In between where you are and where you want to be, there is endless, boundless peace. There is an opportunity to be still, as you
find yourself in the gap between the past and the future, knowing that this is the space where you were called to come alive. And it's okay if you feel uncertain here. You don't have to have it all figured out. When you're soaring through the sky, nothing else matters.
Nothing else matters, unless you're being shot at, but in the moment when the skies are clear, nothing else matters.
The worries of the day and the stresses the weigh you down are nothing as soon as you reach the sky. The clouds providing a sense of security knowing that when you reach them, nothing can touch you.
The limits are endless really and yet, the only thing that remains is the freedom.
Evanna has never felt more free in her life than soaring through the skies. Flying had always been something instinctual for the woman, for her family by association to her father.
The thing that set her apart from her brother and father was her flying. Although her flying was by the book, techniques perfected to the tee, she had become reckless and daring much like her father's former TOPGUN rival, Maverick.
Her brother, much like her father, let his ego swell and it costed him his life.
His death was devastating to all, especially Evanna who had been his wingman at the time. The mission was meant to run smoothly, a quick in and out. The area had been vacated weeks before and the Kazansky siblings and Evanna's RIO, Theo "Ares" Blackwell, were to scout the terrain and report back.
The bogies had come out of nowhere firing at the duo F-18s engaging in an all out dogfight.
Plague and Ares had been trailed by three enemy aircrafts leaving callsign "Ace" with two enemy aircrafts.
Evanna grinned as she spoke through her coms, "Alright boys, I say we play a little games of chicken." Ace chuckled banking right avoiding enemy missile lock.
"Coming in hot." Ares turned his head to help Plague maneuver better.
Ares spotted an aircraft getting close to missile lock, "Plague bank had left!" The jets increase in G's caused his stomach to end up in his throat. "If we're going to play chicken, it needs to be now!"
