According to the news this was the last night the temperature was gonna be this high. Summer was starting to come to an end, even though everyone knew there was still another month of heat just around the corner. School had started again and soon university too. So the last few nights in a row the only thing you could see around were teenagers and young adults squeezing the last moment of the summer in some small bars, at parties on rooftops or even drinking at the beach

That was going on all over town, and even on the outside. Everyone knew the best places weren't actually the ones you found in the center of the town. Those were small, the music was awful, and things were a bit too controlled. But in the suburbs, it was a whole new world. As you drove past the last highway, ten minutes to the north you could already see the vibe changing.
The place's name was The Dropship, also known as The Spot. It was huge, more like a warehouse. Two floors of the best music and the best alcohol, and some other gifts too. It had everything anyone could ask for.

—C'mon! This is my last day here before I come back to classes— the brunette held her hand to him.

—You say that as if that is going to stop you from going out— by the smirk on his face you could tell: he was not lying. —I know you Lexa.—

With an innocence she didn't have Lexa shrugged. Once the man rolled his eyes, smile still on his face, he grabbed her hand and they both rushed inside. Their friends were already there, the problem was to find them. It was annoying that they didn't have a spot, but that was part of the whole night too.
You see, the thing was that you never knew what was going to happen in The Dropship. You go with a plan, but it never turns out exactly how you planned it.

With the loud music already playing, they both walked around trying to find familiar faces. Of course they did: a dude they saw two nights ago, a girl that invited them a drink last week, and a pair of twin brothers from a month ago that could never take their eyes out of Lexa. But their friends were nowhere to be found.

—Drinks? — He suggested, she nodded. The night was young, they still had time to find their people.

—My two favourite people! — A guy who was in charge of the drinks greeted them.

—Bet you say that to everyone here, Miller— Lexa almost made fun of him.

—I do not. I just happen to not hate you and Francis. — He then smiled to the guy with the buzz cut who was already sitting down in one of the stools next to the drinking bar.

—How amazing that is. Now be a good boy and give my woman a beer.—

—Sir, yes sir!—

And with that being said, the night had begun.

Lexa and Francis drank a couple drinks. While he stuck to the usual she decided to try some other cocktails, and found a few she really liked. She realized that drinks that got a strong strawberry flavour could be addictive, and probably the strongest she ever tasted. It wasn't until two hours later that they found some of their friends. Everyone was already having fun, you could tell by the way their pupils were dilated or the lack of shyness everyone was facing. Everything happened to be a reason to celebrate, and so they drank way too many shots, praised their outfits and dragged each other to the dance floor.

The group of friends almost seemed to own the dance floor. Lexa had her arms around Francis' neck, while he held her by the waist always pushing her closer to him. That was before they all started to make fun of them. It was only a matter of seconds before he showed them his middle fingers and dragged her for a kiss.

—You are all jealous that I'm eating this and you are not— he said just after pulling out. Lexa smiled, locking eyes with him.

They danced together, bodies pressed against each other, whispering in each others ear things they couldn't say out loud, sharing gazes that could be easily read. The crowd became bigger, it wasn't easy to stay away from each other. They were lucky to not lose their friends again.

—Hey idiots, I could cut the sexual tension with a knife here, but...drinks again? — This time it was Echo who asked. And they both nodded. Francis held Lexa's hand and they started to walk towards the bar again.

But their hands were sweaty, and slippery. The grip wasn't tight enough.

They lost each other

A massive wave of people separated the two of them. Lexa looked behind her to see if any of their friends were following, she couldn't find them.

—Fucking great. —She mumbled to herself. Trying to find them again was gonna be hard.
