It was quick, but still painful. Jace drew back for a second feeling onto my wrist he swiftly went back down.

I guess In the heat of the moment I really couldn't even feel the bite but now I could. It felt like I was burning from the inside out.

Despite Jace's help trying to help me calm down, it hadn't worked I kept squeezing my fist in and out and he drew back again. Spitting what he had already into the sink.

"Stop doing that, you'll make it worse!" He stated now grabbing a hold of my hand, in-between my fingers also, so it prevented me from doing it again.

After awhile longer he rose back up and spat into the sink again. Holding onto my wrist, it was now bleeding and was in even more pain than it was to begin with.

He wrapped a cloth around it and once again turned around to face the fridge now opening up the freezer he grabbed a back of peas.

I was still sat in one of the kitchen chairs, he handed it to me and pointed out exactly where to put it. He grabbed a water from the fridge and chugged it basically.

"You've said you've done this before? When and with who?" I asked him once he sat down beside me placing his hand firmly over my wrist.

"Alec, he's actually been in a lot of these situations." Chuckling he took his hood down now. And no matter how dimly lit the room was I could still see his smile.

I quickly ruined it once he pushed down even more onto my wrist, I pulled it out of his grasp sucking in some air as well.

Seeing his hurt expression I quickly came up with something to say. "No it's alright! It just hurts, don't even worry about!"

"Just wasn't expecting that to be that rough?" I stated not thinking. I cursed at myself once I saw his reaction. His smirk was back and before I new it his hand was back on my wrist.

"That wasn't rough" he stated laughing now. "What was rough?" He questioned me now smirking.

"All of it? You basically ate my arm?" I stated chuckling. "I held your hand the whole time!" He stated again grabbing a hold of my hand once more.

"Exactly like I'm doing now?" He held my hand with one of his palms. The other placing the ice on my wrist.

I was flabbergasted, completely mad, is he? I wasn't confused I knew the game he was playing and let's say I didn't mind it.

We held eye contact for awhile intill Jace's phone began to ring once more this time he sounded a lot more serious.

And he was quick to get up into his feet and lick the door, pushing the fridge to block it.

He layed the phone on the table and I could see the caller ID.

What I was shocked to see was Victoria Bond, as in the Victoria who got me in this mess in the first place.

"Violet don't-

But before he could say anymore I picked up the phone and began speaking whatever came to mind.

"What the hell did you do!" I stated gripping onto his phone.

"Only what I was told to do?" Her voice was dangerous and so was mine.

"In case you haven't got it through your thick skull of yours, next time I see you, I will in-fact-

But the phone was taking from my grasp. I looked up at Jace with hatred in my eyes. My mind ran miles on why she was calling him.

He finally hung up the phone and he only looked at me.

"Why was she calling you?" I asked him crossing my arms.

I didn't get an answer and I turned on my heel walking towards my room. He didn't follow and I swiftly shut the door and locked it.

I switched on the light switch and my room was exactly how I left it. I grabbed my own phone out of my back pocket and quickly grabbed a pair of headphones.

I plugged them in and clicked through every playlist I had saved. I shrugged as no song I liked come on.

After a couple of songs with myself just sitting onto the bed, Americano came through the headphone speakers and I smiled.

The song was just starting to play and there was a knock on the door. I ignored it and the knocking only turned into pounding.

"What do you want Jace!" I said skipping the song as now it was ruined.

"To talk to you!" He reached for the door knob and I furrowed my eyebrows.

The rattle of the door, made my mind race again. What if it wasn't Jace? What if someone got in?

"Let me in please Violet?" His voice sounded normal but he sounded more concerned. "Why should I!" I yelled back at him.

"Just let me explain myself!" Now I knew it was Jace. He wasn't one for apologizing so this should be great.

I opened up the door and he made his way in crossing his arms immediately.

"Listen, she has taking a liking to me and Hodge has told me to suck up to her as much as I can right now?"

"And why would that help? You k is something I don't Jace and you should tell me?" I crossed my arms also sitting back on my bed, leaned against the headboard.

"Well she works for the vampires you stayed with? And told them where you've been and how I've been with you? So she's advised me to stay away from you?"

"And how does that help my case?" I asked astonished.

"That tells me that I should stay no matter what, they have eyes on you everywhere, which is why you need someone beside you about every minute whether you like it or not?"

I huffed running my fingers through my hair. "Well isn't this just great.?" I stated chuckling a bit.

"Trust me, you won't mind?" He stated smirking once more like earlier today.
