The soft hum of the crickets sounded through my ears, lulling me out of the sleep that I have put myself under. I opened my eyes, looking around my surroundings, my eyes widening when I realized that I wasn't in my house, but in the forest behind it. I don't remember myself walking in here.
Did I sleepwalk?
Looking down at my hands, nearly screaming out in fright that they were nearly white, looking white in the moonlight. I touched one of my hands with one, feeling that my skin was as cold as ice. How did this happen to me?
The sound of footsteps rang through my ears, then a gentle voice once they stopped. "Hello, sweetheart," the voice said. It had a low, husky tone to it, tinged with a little bit of Australian. I knew who that voice belonged to; Luke. Looking to my left, I found his baby-blue eyes trained on me, adoration and another emotion swirling inside them. "How are you feeling?"
I stood up with the help of Lukey, nearly collapsing back down to the ground when I felt my legs were like jelly. "Y-Yeah, I guess," I stuttered a little, resting my hands on his wide chest. I looked back up into his eyes, getting lost in them. "Is it normal to have your legs feel like jelly?"
Luke chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, it's normal. It's one of the side-effects of being a newborn."
My eyebrows furrowed. Newborn? "What do you mean?"
He bit slightly on his lip ring, making tingles run through my body. "You're a newborn werewolf and vampire."
Feeling tears well up in my eyes, a hand slowly covering my mouth in shock. "W-What?" I whispered, looking up at him in disbelief. "N-No, I c-can't be."
His teeth let go of his ring as he began to see tears run slowly down my cheeks, making his heart shatter in his chest. "I-I don't know what to say," he said, wrapping his strong arms around my delicate frame, pulling me into his chest. "I thought you be happy with me for a long time now that you're immortal."
More tears began to run down my cheeks, soft sobs spilling out of my mouth. "I-I-I do want to b-be with you, b-b-but not this w-way."
He held onto me, burying his face into the crook of my neck, peppering kisses on the skin that connected my shoulder and my neck. "So you're saying you want to die old with me?"
I nodded, pulling away from his chest to look up into his eyes with red, puffy ones. He sighed, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "I'm sorry, Rose," he said. "The transformation is complete, and I can't change you back."
Another sob left my mouth, burying my face back into his chest. Luke's voice rang through my ears as he said, "Wake up, Rose! Wake up!"
A gasp escaped my mouth as I shot up in bed, panting a little, looking down at my hands to see if they were white or cold. They looked white in the moonlight, and they felt warm. I sighed out in relief, wiping away the sweat appeared on my forehead.
"Rose?" asked a soft, gentle voice beside me. Turning my head to the sound, finding that I was looking into the baby-blue eyes of Luke. He grabbed my small, pale hand in his large, strong ones, feeling that they were a little bit warm and cold. "Are you okay? Please tell me you are."
A small smile grew onto my lips, smiling at his worrying actions. "I'm okay, Luke," I said, giving his hand a comforting squeeze. "I assure you."
He brought my hand to his lips, pressing a kiss on my knuckles. I laid down on my stomach, facing the handsome boy in front of me. He smiled a little at my changed position, pressing another kiss on my knuckles. "Can you tell me what it was about?" he asked gently, looking deeply into my eyes.
