Chapter 2: Unknown World

Timeline: ???

After what felt like hours, Cole finally artived to this alternate dimension.

The communication thingy started to vibrate, just like a phone. It fell to the ground in front of Cole, and up popped up a hologram of Joe and that blue squirrel.

"Cole, this is Joe, can you hear me?" A voive on teh other end asked. "Yes, Joe, I can hear you." He responded.

"Oh thank god! We thought we lost you." Joe shouted. "We cant see where you are right now, so what we want you  to do is walk around and explore the dimension." He continued.

"Well contact you again here soon, so hang tight." Joe said, and then, the hologram disappeared.

Cole looked around him, only to realize he was inside of the safe zone of the facility.

But something felt off...

The barriers were shut down, the place was rather quiet, and not only that, but there was a huge room, decorated with crystals.

Cole immediately felt uneasy about where he was, but then, he heard some Footsteps from down the hall. His instincts kicked in, and he ran behind some boxes to hide.

Around the corner came a not so friendly looking Panther. Who was sniffing around the spawn, it probably smells Cole.

After looking around a bit, the panther gave up and left. Cole waited for a bit to come out of hiding, when he felt like the coast was clear, he moved the boxes out of the way.

Since he thinks the panther might return, he decides to move away from spawn, and out into the open.

While walking around, he started to feel scared, like something was watching him, the absence of human life here was rather unsettling...

Until while walking, he bumped into something invisible. Cole backed up, and that invisible thing was a ghost fox.

"A human?!" The ghost fox shouted, and then ran off. "GUYS! I FOUND A HUMAN!"

Shit...

Cole knew that if he stayed here, he would possibly get infected, and since this was a alternate universe, there is possibly no cure.

Cole was bout to leave, but the doors were jammed, no matter how much he tried to push the doors open, they wouldnt budge.

"See?! I wasnt lying this time, theres one right here!" COLE heard that ghost fox from earlier say. Cole turned around, onlt to see a bunch of Gootrixians, all standing in front of him.

"Welp, looks like we missed one..." Cole heard one say. Cole backed up, but then, a panther jumped at him, he dodged, and quickly sromped on it, knocking it out.

Cole took out his knife, and pointed it at the Gootrixians. But this just caused them all to attack at once.

With no other choice, Cole ran through the crowd, slashing any Gootrixians that tried to grab him. He managed to get through the croud, and started running the other direction.

It wasnt long before they gave chase. And Cole knew he didnt have much time left.

Out of pure desperation, he took out the portal gun, set the dial back to his dimension, and quickly shot the portal in front of him.

The portal closed behind him, and none of the Gootrixians managed to get through, and Cole escaped unharmed, or at least he thought...

Cole arrived back to reality in about an hour. And fell straight to the ground...

It wasnt long before reaserchers arrived at the testing grounds. They all saw Cole, laying there on the ground unconscious. A few reaserchers went to check if he was okay, and sure enough he was.

The only problem was, he had a huge cut in his shoulder.

A reasercher called a medic and told them about Cole. A few minutes later, a team of paramedics rushed in, and out Cole on a stretcher.

(Ooooh an epic time skip to about 3 days later ooooooh...)

Cole woke up on his apartment couch, confused as hell. He sat up, rubbing his head. "Ugh... what the hell..." he said out loud.

Cole then heard his apartment door open, and saw his roomate, Sasha, entering the room.

"Cole, your awake!" Sasha shouted, and ran up to Cole to give him a huge hug. Cole was confused as hell. "What the hell happened..." He asked Sasha with a tried voice.

Sasha let go of Cole, "Well, uh... after you returned to our dimension, it looks like you scratched your shoulder on a carneline..." Sasha responded.

"Here, lemme get you something to eat, you must be hungry." Sasha said, and went to the kitchen to make something for Cole.

Cole just laid back down on the couch, not knowing of what on earth happened, but then, he saw that blue squirrel reasercher come into the room.

"Hello again, Cole." She said, "Hey..." Cole responded. "Im sorry if this is a bad time, but I wanna ask you a few questions about that dimension you were in." The blue squirrel said, and then sat down next to Cole.

"Ok, mrs, uh...-" Cole responded. "Just call me Kat." The blue squirrel responded.

"So, what did you see in that dimension?" Kat asked Cole. "Well... it was horrible, everything looked like it was destroyed..." Cole responded with a trembling voice.

"I see... were there any signs of life?" Kat asked.

"Yes, there was just Gootrixians, no humans whatsoever..." Cole responded.

"What happened while you were there?" Kat asked Cole.

"I was called out by a ghost fox, they all surrounded me... and I nearly died to a panther..." Cole responded.

"And I had to run through that crowd in order to survive..."

"I see..." Kat responded, she wrote stuff Cole said down on a clip board the had. "Well, thank you for your time, Cole, I should be heading back now." Ket said.

"Alright, bye Kat..." Cole said. With that, kat left the room, and Sasha returned to the living room, with a bowl of spaghetti in hand.

"Hey, Cole! Your foods ready." Sasha shouted, Cole sat back up, and Sasha set the spaghetti on the table in front of him.

"Thank you Sasha..." Cole said, eating the spaghetti, Sasha then went back to the living room.

(5 Hours later.)

It was night time, and Cole was getting ready for bed, Sasha was already ready, since she was a sinox, she didnt have to get ready for bed anymore.

Cole entered the room, and saw Sasha, already asleep. Cole hopped into bed, next to Sasha, they have to share a bed together, because theres only one.

As he pulled the covers over him, he couldnt stop thinking about that dimension, and if they are gonna have him go back there...

Eventually, he managed to fall asleeo, still thinking about that place...
