Chapter 2

Shadow woke up early the sun wasn't fully up yet but he thought it was a good enough time to head out since sonic could hardly walk, shadow started to shake sonic to get him to wake up but he didnt so shadow started to shake him harder but still no response thats when shadow realized that sonic was shaking and panting a little shadow started to worry a bit he took off his glove and put his hand on sonics head he was burning up and he looked like he was in pain shadow picked sonic up and got out of the shelter and started to run towards the closest place he knew which was a small cabin owned by GUN but even though it was the closest it was still pretty far and the ground was still wet from the rain making the ground slippery and hard to walk on. Shadow finally reached the cabin his shoes covered in mud and the azure hedgehog in his arms was still warm but his breathing calmed down a bit, shadow stepped closer to the door he felt uneasy as he noticed that the door was cracked open a bit, he would usually just walk in and beat up the joker but this time he's got got someone else with him and they're unable to fight back, not in this state, and he could feel the chaos energy from outside so whoever was in there they werent a normal person. So he did the smart thing and started to walk away paying attention to his surroundings

Once shadow was far away from the cabin sonic started coughing as he started to wale up "faker" shadow said resting sonic next to a tree "are you okay?" Shadow asked "im fine" sonic said with a smile on his face "why worried about me?" Sonic said grinning "dont make me leave you here" shadow said flatly "ok ok im sorry" sonic said his voice becoming a bit cracked. Shadows ear twitches a bit he heard something luckily not very close but he doesnt want to wait until it does "lets get going now" shadow said picking up sonic again "i know another place but it will take a few hours, can you hold on until then?" Shadow said starting to run but trying to watch his surroundings.

Sonic just nodded his throat starting to hurt, after a few hours sonic started to fall asleep while shadow was still running sonic couldn't help but feel at least a bit bad shadow now has to carry him because he cant walk and shadow seems to be getting tired, this made sonic feel worse  "shadow wait, lets stop for a moment" sonic said putting a hand on his shoulder shadow did as he was told and stopped running looking down at sonic "what is it, am i running too fast?" "Oh no its not that, its just you seem tired" sonic said looking up at shadow "maybe we should try calling it a night we can always get there tomorrow "shadow just thought about it he did think it would be faster if he just continued, but sonic did seem to worry about him and if there was someone trying to follow them then it wouldnt help if he were too tired to fight back

So he gave in it wouldnt be the safest to sleep on the ground now, so shadow jumped into a tree landing perfectly on a branch and sitting down sonic mow laying on his lap sonic felt embarrassed by this he didn't want to sit on shadows lap it was kind of humiliating but if sonic where to move he would probably fall and in the state he's in he would probably be too weak to get back up. So sonic just sat still his face now redder than before, shadow took notice of the no longer blue hedgehog shadow just smirked seeing how a small thing like physical contact would embarrass sonic he was tempted to tease but chose not to since it would be good for the both of them to get some rest but he would definitely bring this up later just to mess with sonic a bit

Shadow then fell asleep thinking about the look of embarrassment on the blue ones face, sonic then calmed down after a while and decided to suck it up but he couldnt help it sonic then looked up and noticed the calm face of a sleeping ebony hedgehog that was still holding him tight in his embrace. Sonic just nuzzled shadow chest fur a little making him blush because of how soft it was sonic eventually fell a sleep right after resting his head on shadows chest.
