Chapter 6

Sonic sat just sat there he never expected that he would fall for his rival in such a short amount of time "sonic you really do like him!" tails said practically jumping for joy he was happy for his brother, sonic had never taken a liking to anyone or he just didn't have time for stuff like that since he was always saving the world sonic never had much time for his private life so the thought of sonic finally liking someone brought joy to the twin-tailed fox 'maybe this could let sonic settle down for a while he's always so busy' tails thought

Sonics face was now even more red "yes.."sonic said as tails giggled his usual childish laugh "aw don't be embarrassed, I'll keep it a secret, for now," tails said "what!" sonic said "I'm kidding, I wouldn't do that to you sonic" tails said sonic just narrowed his eyes at the fox and continued to finish the rest of his food

After sonic was done eating tails took his dish and helped sonic to the restroom, sonic knew he was dirty but he still didn't want to take a bath he struggled against tails when he tried to bathe sonic he hated water he held onto the sides of the tub as if he was going to drown once tails was done he was relieved he didn't want to be in there any while longer once sonic was dry he went straight to bed with tails help to to get him to his room "oh yeah" tails said as he brought sonic to his bed "the others are coming tomorrow they want to throw a party for you and shadow for coming back safely, and don't worry rouge will make sure shadow comes it's also shadows party so you'll get to see him all day tomorrow, I'll make sure of it" tails said making sonic blush "quit it!" sonic said As tails swiftly left the room leaving a flustered sonic alone in his room

The next morning sonic was still asleep even though he knew what was happening today
And everyone was already there including shadow surprisingly he was one of the first ones there without the need of rouge forcing him like usual and tails made sure to take note of that "hey shadow, can you get sonic I'm pretty sure he's still asleep" tails asked shadow just looked at the small fox wondering why he was the first one the fox asked "ok, wheres his room" shadow said "it's the last door up the stairs" tails said shadow just nodded going to the door tails said was sonics room.

When shadow opened the door he saw a blue hedgehog curled up in a ball sleeping, softly snoring, the light from the window glistening perfectly on sonic making him look perfect in shadow's eyes.

Shadow sat on the edge of the bed next to sonic and started to rub his quills causing sonic to purr and slowly wake up "shadow" sonic said still half asleep "what are you doing here?" sonic said sitting up a little rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes "the fox told me to come get you" "tails did? Why-" before sonic could finish he remembered why 'man I'm gonna kick his butt' sonic thought "we should go, your friends are waiting" shadow said "oh yeah, I nearly forgot everyone was coming" sonic said and looked at his alarm clock on his side table

"Aw man," sonic said "what is it?" shadow asked "I was supposed to wake up early, I even set an alarm this time" sonic sighed "well no use being bummed out about your forgetfulness" shadow said grinning "whatever let's just go to the others" sonic said "fine, fine" shadow said picking sonic up "hey why do you always have to pick me up!" sonic said flustered "because it's easier" shadow said with a smirk and headed downstairs the first one to greet sonic was Amy "sonic when I heard what happened I was so worried are you ok?!" Amy said "yeah, I'm fine Amy don't worry"

Shadow then walked past her he seemed to be a little annoyed shadow set sonic down gently on the couch bringing more people over like silver, blaze and knuckles ,tails was just talking with rouge and omega on the other side of the room sonic was talking with everyone while shadow just sat next to sonic not talking at all but after a few hours of just sitting there shadow eventually stood up only earning the attention of sonic "where are you going shadow?" sonic asked "I'm just gonna go for a walk" shadow said  "oh take me with you, please" sonic said "no you should stay this is your party" shadow said heading out the front door before sonic could say anything else.

Sonic was a little sad after that he wanted to stay with shadow but sonic was stubborn so he wouldn't listen to shadow either way even if he wanted to be alone so sonic stood up he was a little wobbly even as he held onto the furniture but he eventually got outside seeing the ebony hedgehog about to skate off "shadow!" sonic called out to him before he was about to leave "sonic what are you doing here you shouldn't be walking on your own" shadow said skating toward sonic and holding him close to his chest so sonic could support himself "don't worry it's already practically healed it doesn't even hurt as much as it did before"

"Well even if it doesn't hurt anymore it might be too early to put pressure on your leg" shadow said "I said don't worry it's all good, but why'd you leave?" sonic asked "I just don't like being around people much" shadow said "I guess that's understandable, but it's 'our' party not 'my' party" sonic said "alright, alright I'll make sure it to mess up again" shadow said smiling down at sonic "u-um shadow can I tell you something?" sonic said his heartbeat suddenly picking up "sure?" shadow responded

Sonic took in a deep breath, then leaned in closer. sonics lips touching the ebonys, shadow was taken aback but still kissed back both closing their eyes shadow putting his hands on sonics hip bringing him closer, and sonic putting his arms around shadow's neck deepening the kiss

Both Slowly pulling away from the kiss not breaking eye contact with the other "what I'm trying to say is shadow, will you go out with me?" sonic said shadow chuckled "of course, I will" shadow said kissing the azure hedgehog lightly on his forehead "so, does that make you my boyfriend now?" sonic said " yup we're officially dating now" shadow said as sonic hugged shadow tightly "I'm so happy" sonic said but it was muffled a bit by shadows chest fur but shadow still got the message "me too"
