Isaac
"Isaac, Hello! I'm talking to you dude!" An annoyed voice said, snapping me out of my infernal thoughts. Looking to my right, I noticed Luke frowning at me. "What's the matter with you today? You've been like... spacing out, the whole freaking day."
Yeah, well, just go ahead and blame Audie for that, I thought sarcastically, but sighed heavily instead. "Yeah, I know. Sorry. I'm just so fucking tired today, barely got any sleep..." I lied smoothly. Though it was true, I had barely gotten any sleep last night. "What were you saying again?" I asked, trying to stay focused on him, even though the only thing I wanted was to look for my Angel.
My Angel, whom I can be sure was pissed at me. I hadn't seen Audie since this morning's unpleasant incident. Not during any single break. I wondered where she was. I mean, we always saw each other during at least some of the breaks. But not today. I hoped she was still at school.
We had lunch break right now, and I was sitting in the cafeteria with my buddies, constantly hoping to spot her. The lunch break had started about ten minutes ago, and I still hadn't caught a glimpse of her. Please tell me she's still at school! I didn't really have to worry yet, since that was most likely the case. Audie never skipped school, I mean never as in ever... Unless she was really sick. And even then, either our parents or I had to force her to stay home. So yeah, she didn't like skipping school.
"Dude come on, you're killing me over here!" Luke complained loudly, making me realize I had stopped listening to him again.
"Fuck, I'm sorry man! But it feels like I might fall asleep at any second," I lied, trying my best to look remorseful.
I didn't like to lie to Luke. I mean, he was my fucking best friend, and we told each other everything. To the fucking tiniest secret. It wasn't like we spent hours chatting away, like a couple of silly girls. But, you know, we just didn't lie to each other. The only thing I hadn't told him, was the love I felt for Audie. How could I possibly tell him that? I mean, how would that go? Like 'Hey man! What's up? Yeah, I'm fine, nothing really... I'm just completely, disgustingly yearning for my own baby sister. But other than that, I'm perfectly fine man!' Nah, I don't think so.
"Where's Audrina?" Luke suddenly asked, looking around the cafeteria, his question pulling me back to reality with full force. The blood drained from my face, yet my heart went into high gear. Why would he ask that? I questioned worriedly. He couldn't suspect anything? He didn't suspect anything, did he?
Forcing myself to play it cool, I shrugged my tense shoulders. "I don't know, why?"
Luke also shrugged. "Nothing, really, she's just usually here by now."
Ooookay... "I guess..."
"Anyways, are you listening to me right now?"
"Yeah," I promised, nodding my head as I took my first bite from the food I had bought. Internally I was breathing a sigh of relief.
"Okay, good. Well, tonight Justin's having a party, and I just wanted to make sure you're going to come." Luke looked at me questioningly.
The mere mention of Justin's name made my blood boil. I did not like him right now. Sure, yesterday I had told him to back the fuck off my sister, but I wasn't completely sure he would obey. That depended on how much he wanted her and I guessed it was pretty badly, like the way a lot of guys wanted her. It wouldn't surprise me if he had invited Audie to his party... and then it would be a good thing if I was there, so I would be able to keep an eye on her. Well, more like, I would be able to keep an eye on the guys that would try to seduce her.
