At lunch, the feast of Ethilne and Rodas' engagement later that night was discussed. Heras did not say a word while the family was talking because he had no interest in going there.

On the night of the feast, everyone attended except Heras who was hiding in his room, embarrassed to show up.

However, Count Etem Dooku had returned home immediately after eating his share of food, concerned for Heras that he never attended the princess' engagement feast.

"Why don't you attend there? What happened to you?" Etem asked.

"I...i...it is just that I'm not used to attending such occasions and I'm not comfortable with people I don't know," Heras replied shyly. "I was also afraid that I might be ridiculed because of my state in life and because of the big scar on my cheek."

"That's okay," the count replied. "I left you food from the feast. Also based on what I saw before, it looks like my daughter was not happy at the feast because she seemed to be sensing that he had a bad plan and he really wanted to marry her solely because of her looks and my position as liege lord. After I ate, my family and I went home because of the endless and pointless political blabbering. Even though the occasion was about her, Ethilne just came home with me, and so did Kathie and Kenny. She was bored with the conversations before we went home."

"Where are they now? Why are they not here with you?" Heras asked. "It's like I want to talk to your daughter."

"Resting. I thought you were avoiding us. What changed your mind?" Etem replied, wondering.

"I felt sorry for her for being forced to get married just because of politics." Heras replied. "I thought she seemed happy about it."
