It was a long, hot afternoon here in Cocos Beach, Bahia.

My parents decided that I was old enough and needed a distraction so they sent me away to Brazil and I had become a barista/waitress for the summer working at my uncle's cafe.

I have to admit, it's better than I thought it would be at first. The business usually runs smoothly around here and I get free drinks.
I love being near the water too, the ocean's breeze seems to purify my spirits.

Although, there was this one customer in particular who's eye I seemed to have caught. I thought nothing of it though, I knew his name to be Bobby and that he was a family friend. I also knew he was famous and came to Bahia as a getaway at times. But I resented his flirtatious advances for obvious purposes.

He had quite the reputation of a heartbreaker. I was 18 and away from home and had no business falling in love or getting myself into such entanglements, nor did I intend on doing so.

"E ai Y/n, 'ce pode me dar um copinho de limonada por favor." (Hey Y/n, can you get me some lemonade please.) One of our regulars Sr. Eduardo asked

"Ta." (Mhm.) I responded with a grin and grabbed the jar of lemonade pouring him a cup before giving it to him

"Bobby! Entra, entra." (Bobby! Come in, come in.) My uncle said excitedly as I watched Bobby walk in with a smile

I quickly went and got the dishes with few leftovers from the previous customers and as I did so I felt eyes on me. Not just anybody's but Bobby's in particular, watching my every move.

"Você quer um cafezinho?" (Would you like some coffee?) My uncle asked making Bobby turn back to him as I walked back over and put the dishes in the sink for some other girl to wash

"Sim, sim." (Yea, yea.) he nodded

"Oi Y/n, faz ai um cafe pro Bobby!" (Hey Y/n, make Bobby a coffe!) my uncle loudly said as I looked between him & Bobby with a sigh and nodded hearing them talk for a second

Bobby then made his way over and sat on one of the high stools right in front of the counter and watched as I made him his coffee

"Oi menina, como vai?" (Hey lil girl, how's it going?) He started but I payed him no mind as usual

I then heard him scoff followed with a grin

"Não sei qual o seu problema mas se ajuda, até te faz mais gata." (I don't know what your problem is, but if it helps, it makes you hotter.) He winked at me with a playful smile as I handed him his coffee

"Leave me alone." I gave him my best fake smile

"So we're switching to English huh?" He asked in his noticeable Michigan accent

I shrugged and he nodded drinking his coffee

Meanwhile I went to clean up another table by the door and the people dancing outside caught my attention for a minute

I shook it off and went back behind the counter and put the dishes away

"I saw you staring at the crowd..." Of course he did..

"Do you know how to dance?" He raised a brow as I made another requested order from a fellow customer

"What's it matter to you?" I ask avoiding eye contact

"Well... It'd be fun to be dancing out there don't you recon?" He asked drinking the rest

"Me and you?" My eyebrows swiftly rose up
