V: Early Coronation

Third POV

Izuku was still sitting on his bed, with his shoes removed he only pulled the covers over his body as he had sobbing spasms.

He simply didn't understand what had transpired only a few moments ago.

Why was Katsuki treating him like this? He thought that they were actually doing okay, so why?

~flashback~

Izuku stared at Katsuki, who had a darkened look in his eyes.

"I-is everyone okay?" Izuku quietly asked, but Katsiki only walked closer to him, scaring the boy even more.

"Don't even ask me such a stupid question," Katsuki answered, his tone sounding cold before he'd pick up his speed and grabbed onto Izuku.

"Katsuki, what are you-" the boy began to question, feeling himself wanting to start crying again because of how right Katsuki's grip was on his shoulders.

"Why did you take so long to come get me? Why bother to ask him what happened to him and not the king and queen?" Katsuki began to rant, making Izuku confused to his ulterior motive.

"Katsuki, I tried to move as fast I can to help him and to come get you but when there was anyone in the corridor on the way to you I decided you could just help him-!" Izuku answered, unsure as to why Katsiki was flaming him.

"What did I do? Why are you getting on my back about th-," Izuku shot back, only for Katsuki to yell at him.

"TOSHINORI IS DEAD, MY PARENTS ARE DEAD AND WE DON'T KNOW WHO DID THIS TO THEM BECAUSE YOU VALUED THE LIFE OF THAT RANDOM KNIGHT-!"

Izuku felt his heart stop, the waterworks immediately starting up again only for Katsuki to snap at him again,

"You know that this upcoming the next couple of weeks was an important time for me and the royal family, so why'd you waste time?!"

Izuku was dumbfounded with what he was hearing.

He was hurting. And he knew Katsuki was hurting as well, but instead of being able to console each other, they were here arguing.

"I didn't know what to do, he was bleeding out and I was panicking because there was no real solution! but I swear on all the love I have for you that I never meant to stall if they could've survived-!" Izuku tried to explained, "My dad always told me that-,"

"You mean your step dad? I lost both of my parents in one night because you valued someone beneath them!" Katsuki retorted, as all he really saw in this moment was red.

He didn't even know what he was rambling on about, but his emotions were so strong that his mouth couldn't stop moving.

Izuku felt anger rising in his throat, "And what do you mean by those statements? Are you trying to tell me that because Toshinori is my step dad, my own tears aren't the same as yours? and that; that knight who suffered until his very last moments to come back to the castle, to tell you the news about the king and queen, his life isn't worth the same?"

Katsuki didn't respond, letting Izuku know that what he was thinking was true.

"I really thought that you'd change since that night on the balcony but obviously not, so tell me, tell me now!" Izuku shouted as well, slapping Katsuki's hands off of him. "I am not ashamed for wanting to help someone like me, he is a human just like the rest of us if you aren't considering wealth or status."

"I don't care how you feel." Katsuki then uttered, blinded with misplaced rage and sadness for his parents untimely death, "I couldn't give a shit because as of tomorrow night, I'm gonna become the crowned king and my own parents won't even get to watch me succeed the throne."

Izuku looked down, sniffling before his eyes matched the same burning look of ferocity in Katsuki's eyes, "Them the same can go for me as well."

"That's fine with me, if my feelings are irrelevant to you; after all my words don't matter and you do and say as you please do selfishly just like Camie. You two really are perfect for each other, huh?"

Heated death glares could of gone on for ages, but Katsuki was the one to break it off once Izuku had yelled at him to get out.

~flashback end~

Izuku sniffled as his heart seemingly pounded in his eardrums.

He could just envision it; Camie getting her way and being the only who Katsuki went to in ordered to be consoled at the moment.

He felt so stupid for thinking he and Katsuki had something special.

She was in the making to be royalty and he wasn't.

That fifth rule to not fall in love with the crowned prince was something Izuku had ignored for the longest and now karma was getting back at him.

'Never again' was all Izuku repeated in his head, tugging his blanket closer to his body, trying to defer some sleep for the night.

. . . The Next Morning. . .

Izuku woke up and got prepared for his daily duties, still a bit hesitant to face Katsuki after the man had snapped on him last night.

He exited his chamber, surprised to see every servant with their hands on deck, scrambling to make preparations for cleaning and decoration.

He turned the corner and managed to spot Uraraka who was acting like your every day crazy lady; commanding the servants to get it together and start preparing.

"U-Uraraka, what's going on?" Izuku asked, placing a hand over one ear to hear her over the commotion.

She looked down at him, before pulling him aside, a look of seriousness on her face.

"Because of the King and Queen's untimely death, we're prepping for their funeral; and because the royal advisor whose supposed to oversee everything else for their sudden death is also dead, we're pushing Prince Katsuki's coronation forward."

Izuku narrowed his brows, "How soon is it?"

With a glazed over look she responded solemnly,

"Tonight."
