X: Burden

Third POV

A new dawn had come.

But when Izuku woke up, he was all alone in the quaint cottage. No Katsuki, but his black and white fur-trimmed cloak laid gracefully on Izuku's nude body.

Izuku sat upright, staring at only his clothing on the floor. It had to have been 6 am, maybe a bit earlier seeing as how the sky was still a darker shade of blue.

He wrapped the cloak around, slowly wobbling so he wouldn't leak before peering past the wall to see an empty living space. Nothing besides seeing a plate of food and a folded piece of paper.

He turned back to the bedroom, his body sore as hell, only to enter the small bathroom and began running the warm water.

The bathtub filled and the vanilla scent soap began to waft around with the steam engulfing the bathroom. Slowly spreading his legs and slouching, allowing his body to fully relax.

Grabbing the hanging cloth, he cleaned himself up a bit, feeling around his skin, especially his inner thighs were Katsuki had made 'marks that only he'd find' boldly expressing that Izuku was all his the entire time.

Izuku didn't oppose the man as for the first time in ever knowing the King did he feel so loved. He slipped a finger inside, cleaning himself out and ensuring he was washed over before draining the tub.

He dried himself before putting back on his old clothing but tying Katsuki's cloak on so it hid his figure nicely.

Going into the front part of the home, Izuku ate the sandwich Katsuki had made for him, before using the letter opener to figure out what was in the envelope.

His eyes scanned the letter Katsuki addressed to him, feeling a pan him his heart with each word.

Katsuki had left him to settle the score with Theroix.
Yet the idea of him not coming back still frightened him, and Katsuki knew that. That's why Izuku still had his cloak.

So even if he hadn't returned, then he'd have a physical memento of the man and the night they shared.

Izuku throat suddenly felt dry, yet no amount of water would've soothed it.

He put everything away and cleaned up, headed outside to go and see the horse from last night.

Katsuki must've walked home then...

He quickly took off the beauty's reigns from the post before he hopped on, riding back to the to town, using the castle that stood high in the distance as a guide.

Izuku wasn't all that surprised when only 15 minutes later people in the citadel began to look at him weirdly.

Then again, the cloak he was currently wearing still held the king's version of the Xynia emblem, so for it to be seen on someone who wasn't the king was odd in its own right.

Izuku didn't have time for the townspeople though, riding to the royal stables, noticing that some of the more notable knights were completely gone from the training field.

Katsuki really did ride out then...

He put the horse back and immediately began making his way to leaving the castle's outside archway just wanting to head back home and pass out when he was stopped again.

This time by Camie and the royal guards.

She was clearly done playing the good fiancé especially when Katsuki up and abandoned her last night without so much as a simple explanation.

"I'm sure I don't even have to have to ask, but do you know what you're wearing?" She questioned, her tone churlish in regards to the former maid in front her.

The look on her face couldn't nearly show how much she despised Izuku.

"Of course I do, the king gave this to me last night." Izuku answered, not having time for someone that was constantly overlooking him.

"Right when he promised to marry me once he came back home."

Camie was taken back, the look in her eyes telling Izuku she was only moments away from snapping. She flipped her hair back from her shoulders and leaned forward,

"You must be out of your mind if you think someone like you has actually won his heart-,"

"Like you?" Izuku interjected, stepping forward like she did so their faces would've been mere inches away, "Because of the new law in place, I can be free to gladly tell you that every night when Katsuki said good night to you, he was with me."

"He would kiss, and tell me he loves me ever since we came back from Avania; and as of last night I don't think I've ever seen the King of Xynia worshipping anyone but himself; kissing every inch of my body and letting me know that there is no one else that would get to have me but him even if he dies."

"He's never wanted you like that has he?"

Inferiority burned in those now darkened irises of hers, knowing Izuku couldn't possibly have been lying.

She was only thinking about how she should've killed him when she still had the chance.

She'd already done it twice under orders but now it'd be personal.

"Now if you'll excuse me my lady, I need to catch up on rest I've missed."

He then moved away and left, heading for his home.

She begrudgingly dismissed the guards as she headed into the castle and to a private conference room where someone was waiting for her.

Light Pink shoulder length hair and grey eyes, and a puff sleeved black tulle gown, fiddling with an envelope with the Xynia emblem.

"They've responded, Camie." The girl spoke, her tone sounding displeased, "and they know about the new ruling and the engagement status."

Camie bit her lip, "Not my fault Fuwa- that bitch keeps testing me for all I've got."

"He's even saying that Katsuki plans on marrying him once he gets back."

Fuwa raised her brow, "Then we've better think of something to put into action before he comes back, because we know good and well he's coming back from that war with nothing less than perfection on his side."

Camie took a seat, knowing the promise she was forced to abide to if she want her and her parents to live the good life.

And a mere maid wasn't gonna stop her.
