"You can go inside now. No need to be neevous" Jisoo told Jimin who was almost crushing Jungkook's hand in nervousness. He looked at the younger who nodded at him to encourage him. He heaved a deep sigh and stood up on his feet. He closed his eyes before opening them and opened the door.
It was a marvellous room, he had to admit. Very expensive. His eyes slowly landed on an old man sitting on a swivel chair. As soon as he saw Jimin, he stood up startling Jimin. Jimin bowed to the chairman who returned the same. 'Why was he bowing to me?' Jimin was weirded out by his behaviour.
"Here. Come, take a seat" Gaeul said softly smiling. Jimin couldn't help but smile at him. He tried to ignore the very familiar pang in his head as he tried to focus on the interview. He didn't dare to lose a golden chance. Suddenly the same images which appeared to him in the restroom flooded his mind. He shook his head trying to calm himself.
"Are you okay? Drink this" Gaeul said worrying about the boy and handed him a glass of water.
"Thank you" Jimin gulped it down in one go. He then felt better.
"I'm sorry but have we met before?" He asked the chairman causing the latter's eyes to widen. Was he happy? Yeah, the happiest. But he didn't show it.
"Ah, never mind. I'm sorry, sir" Jimin again apologised.
"No need to apologise. Can we start now?"
"Yeah"
Although the interview is just nominal, Jimin exceeded the chairman's expectations.
"Congratulations. You can work from tomorrow"
"Thank you so much, sir. I'll work hard" Jimin smiled sincerely.
"You can just call me Gaeul-" the old man stopped realising that this is too early.
"Sir?"
"It's nothing. But I want you to have lunch with me" he said making Jimin shocked. What is he trying to do? Is he trying to lure and sell him off?
"Sir, I came with a friend. We have to go. I'm sorry"
"Friend?" Gaeul cocked his brows as his protective side peeking out.
"Then you both can join me" he smiled persuading Jimin.
"But-"
"Do you want your job or not, Park Jimin ssi?" He faked authority.
"Y-yes, sir" Jimin hung his head low making Gaeul feel bad for raising his voice. The old man remembered his childhood. How tables have turned now!
"Don't worry. I won't do any harm. It's just a sweet gesture" he assured the younger who somehow felt assured. He felt safe because Jungkook would be there too. But he somehow trusted the person before him for no particular reason. Gaeul led the way outside.
"This is my friend, Jeon Jungkook" Jimin said introducing his friend.
"Appa?" The old man mumbled with eyes as wide as saucers. Jungkook bowed to him.
"Nice to meet you" he said bringing Gaeul back to earth.
"Are you okay, sir?" Jungkook asked seeing crystals in Gaeul's eyes. The older just shook his head.
"I'm fine. Nice to meet you" he said extending his hand. Jungkook shook his hands.
"I'm sorry but I feel like I have seen you before. Do you know me?" Jungkook couldn't help but ask.
"I-i... I don't think I've seen you before" The chairman bit his lips to control himself from saying anything out.
"Yes, Kookie. I too thought the same" Jimin joined.
Gaeul smiled at them fondly.
"You really found each other this time too" he said in his mind.
