𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑 | 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐞𝐡𝐲𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐟

Chapter 11

The next morning the two woke up in each other's arms. Y/n had never slept better and she was feeling confident for once.
Taehyun instead felt like he was a teenager dealing with his first love, what he felt was so intense that he couldn't actually control himself. He was happy that the girl he loved opened her heart to him.

"Good morning princess, hope you're feeling good"

"Good morning Taehyun, I've never felt this great in a long time" she answered sending him a smile.

But y/n's morning was soon ruined by the news that her soldiers were being attack by Taehyun's troops and many were dying. It was a surprise attack but it was well planned and  y/n was very worried for her troops, as the situation seemed critic. She prepared quickly and went on the battlefield while Taehyun went back to his camp.

The day was a disaster. Half of y/n's soldiers were killed, since they were not ready to fight when the attack began. Y/n was feeling so stressed and guilty that she couldn't do anything to save their lives. The possibility of them winning was now even lower than before.

As she returned with her head low to her tent she suddenly thought of something that made her shiver. Was Taehyun trying to distract her yesterday? Was it all a plan to take the lead of the war?

Y/n didn't believe that he was able to do something like that, he seemed genuine about his feelings. But what if he was just acting? As she always repeated herself they were enemies and nothing could have changed that. She was only stupid enough to fall for him and let him have intimacy with her.

"Ehi y/n what's with that face?"

Y/n didn't even hear Taehyun enter, she was so immersed in her thoughts that his voice scared her a little. What was she gonna do now? How did she have to behave?

"A very bad day Taehyun"

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

"What is there to talk about? I assume you already know how things have gone" she answered with a bit of rudeness in her voice

"I know what my soldier told me, but I don't know how tiring and stressful it was for you"

The air was getting tense as y/n felt even more angry hearing him speak as if he wasn't part of the problem

"Oh please Taehyun! It was literally planned by your troops and now you're coming here to comfort me, what tells me that you're not behind this too?"

"Me behind this? Are you hearing yourself?"

"For fuck sake, we're enemies! What tells me that yesterday wasn't all planned too? Maybe you just wanted to distract me from what was about to happen!"

"You're crossing the line y/n, now you're bringing our emotions into this"

"I'm not crossing anything, we are literally leading rival troops what should I expect? I don't think your feelings for me will stop your soldiers from attacking mine" she started "and I even began to think that maybe yesterday was a lie and a one-night thing. This war is mad Taehyun and we're the craziest among them all"

"Y/n I would never do something like that to you. You should know that by now, my feelings are as genuine as they can be"

"I'm confused, I don't think that us loving each other is a right thing right now"

"It was never right y/n! But I can't help loving you, you are the reason I remained sane in all this mess"

"I know Taehyun and I feel like that too. It's just that we are planning attacks against each other and then here we are acting as a couple, it doesn't make sense"  y/n felt like crying as everything was getting complicated. Even a feeling as pure as love was hard to bloom in a contest like war.

"Nothing makes sense here. I didn't even want to attack your reign in the first place. I'm not as gready as my dad"

"But my people will suffer anyways. Your reign will take over and our normal life will be erased and changed with your way of ruling"

There was a moment of silence as Taehyun knew that what y/n was saying was right. His dad's aim was to add another reign to his possessions, so that Seoul could become the strongest reign of all Korea.

"We should stop seeing each other Taehyun"

"No y/n wait-"

"It's better this way. We'll just keep hurting ourselves" she started as a single tear fell from her eye "now please go"

Taehyn gave her one last glance and with teary eyes he went out. Y/n was broken, her finding love amidst a war was something she never thought of. This whole situation seemed unreal. She loved Taehyun from the bottom of her heart, she found happiness in him, but she couldn't be selfish and think about herself while her soldiers were fighting. She felt so guilty for letting her emotions take over her.

That night y/n went to bed crying her heart out, commited to give her full attention to the war.
