𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑 | 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐞𝐡𝐲𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐟

Chapter 8

As every morning y/n was going to Taehyun's tent to attend breakfast at his camp. While she was almost near it, she heard two people speak and she stopped to eavesdrop what they were saying.

"After lunch we'll attack from east, the Incheon troops will be caught by surprise" said one of the two soldiers.

Oh, this was defenitely useful to y/n, she was now able to protect her territory from the enemy's attack. After all having to pretend to be Taehyun's girlfriend also had its positive sides.

"Goodmorning princess! What are you doing there?"

Y/n was startled by the sudden voice of Taehyun speaking to her

"Oh, I lost my ring and I was looking for it but I can't find it" she lied

"I can help you search for it if you want"

"No need to, it was not even that valuable"

"If you say so I won't insist" said Taehyun while sending the girl a warm smile that made her blush a little.

After breakfast, that went strangely smooth,   y/n returned to her camp ready to use the new precious information she acquired that morning.
As a matter of fact the Incheon troops were able to turn tables and defeat for once the Seoul ones.

When night came y/n went back to her tent very tired, but also happy that she scored her first success. She felt the need to wash and for this reason she went to the river and got undressed.

As she was engulfing herself in a big towel, after whashing her body, she suddenly saw a slim figure leaned against a tree in her proximity. She went immediately on defensive mode and she was ready to protect her identity at any cost.

However when she was closer to the tree realization hit her

"Taehyun? What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here you're asking uh?"
He spoke with a rude and angry tone

"Ehi, why are angry? What happened?" Asked y/n worried about the boy

"Stop playing innocent y/n, I know your dirty trick" he looked up and stared at her with a gaze full of hate and delusion

Y/n understood what he was referring to and  started feeling a huge sense of guilt.

"Maybe I was thinking too highly of you, I would have never believed you would resort to such a low play" he started spitting bringing out all his frustration.

The sense of guilt was now partially gone and y/n began speaking in her defense

"You're always so ready to judge others and you never look at yourself once. You're not in the position to scold me as you've put me in a mess with your own hands"

"Don't bring that up now y/n. My guesses about you were probably wrong and you're not the person I was thinking you are"

"Uh? Excuse me? I'm not the person you think I was? You're not even listening to what you're saying" at this point they were both shouting st each other's faces, not caring about y/n only wearing a towel.

"Some of our best soldiers died because of you and you're telling me that I should watch my mouth? You're so silly I can't even listen to you"

"And you're blaming me because they died? I understand you loss but I've lost many more soldiers due to your troops and I don't see myself reminding you that, do I?"

They remained both silent staring at each other eyes intensively as y/n was trying her best to hold her tears, she didn't want to cry in front of him again.

"This is hurting us Taehyun, let's stop this" said y/n after the long silence

"Stop this?" Breathed the boy out

"Yes this whole fake relationship thing, we're just getting burnt from it. Few moments ago we were literally yelling at each other"

"I understand your point but you just can't stop showing up to my camp, what will I tell my father?"

"I don't know but we can figure that out together, we can't keep it going we're just going to hurt ourselves even more" a tear escaped fleeting from her eye.

"Please don't cry" he began as he cupped her cheek and dried her tear "this will hurt much more"

Y/n felt flattered by his words, but the she remembered his hateful stare just minutes ago and she soon felt as a piece of trash.

"Stop this game Taehyun, one minute you're screaming in my face full of hate and the other you're being sweet pretending to care about me" uttered the girl with more tears threatening to fall

"When did I ever say that I don't care about you?" Asked the boy while searching for y/n's gaze

"I mean you're literally giving me mixed signals and I can't distinguish what is true and what is part of the act for this fake thing between us. Let's stop this, as you can see I'm already more burned by this situation than I want to admit"
More tears flooded y/n eyes as she was now not able to control them.

"But I don't want to stop it. Y/n you brought me happiness inside this mad war, you're the reason I was looking forward to every end of the day" he said  that with the most sincere eyes y/n had ever seen on him.

As they were lost in each other's gaze, Taehyun suddenly hugged her not caring about her bare back.
Y/n was at first startled by his action but she soon hugged him back.

His hands on her bare back sent her indefinite emotions and she felt for once in the right place.
