Chapter 13

The war was almost coming to an end. The outcome was quite clear too. Y/n was going to lose her reign, but it wasn't her fault. She gave her everything, however her lack of experience didn't help her at all. The Seoul's troops were far way more equipped and prepared. Their soldiers were so well trained that somedays after y/n and Taehyun meeting, they were able to capture y/n and bring her to their camp.

You read it right, y/n was now in the enemies hands fearing for her life and the destiny of her reign.

"King, prince! Look at who we got here" spoke one of the soldier while dragging a still helmet-covered y/n

"We were able to capture the king of Incheon! The victory is ours there's no denying" spoke another soldier.

Hearing those words Taehyun felt suddenly anxious. He knew there was no king of Incheon anymore. That person was definitely his y/n.

"Dad I'll take care of him" spoke fastly Taehyun already standing up from his chair.

He was trying to avoid at all cost them revealing who was actually under that helmet.

"No wait son, I want to greet my dear friend" said the king with a hint of sarcasm

"You can do that later, let me tie him near my tent" uttered the boy with a bit of desperation in his voice

"I'll do it know, since I hope to never see his face again"

Taehyun understood what he was meaning with his statement and started sweating and almost crying. He never imagined things to  turn out this way for them two.

"Remove his helmet" said the king sternly

Taehyun's heart was beating so fast and he was on the verge of fainting. He knew that this was the last time he would be able to see her.

Gasps filled the room as soon as the helmet was removed.

"Y/n? What is this?" Bewilderment on the king's face

"SHE'S A TRAITOR!" started shouting many people in the room.

Y/n had her head low and wasn't able to look at Taehyun. She knew she had to be strong in this moment but she just felt like crying. All her hard work turned into ash.

"Care to explain this y/n?" Asked the king once again.

Y/n slowly gained her composure and looked up meeting Taehyun's teary gaze. She had now no reason to lie, as she was going to be killed anyways.

"I'm y/n the princess of Incheon" more and higher gasps filled the room, people whispering about her being Taehyun's girlfriend could be heard.

"I was actually here the whole time fighting instead of my father who was severely ill and has left us forever some time ago" everyone was shocked with y/n's confession, everything they were hearing were all news to them.

"Taehyun did you know about all that?" Asked angrily the king

"I-"

"He didn't know. I tricked him into believing I was just a normal person to get important information from him" uttered urgently y/n trying to at least save her lover.

She looked at Taehyun with pleading eyes, hoping that he would not tell anything even if she was just making her situation worse. She wanted him to live and become the king he deserved to be.

"That's good to hear. I almost lost my trust in you"

Taehyun felt like thousands of bullets were hitting him. His father's words hurt, but what hurt him the most was y/n sacrificing herself for him.

"Tie her up near my tent, I will decide what to do with her"

Y/n was once again dragged away as she gave one last loving gaze to Taehyun whose tears just started streaming down his face.

"I love you" murmured y/n

"I love you too my princess"

And just like that their love story was halted. Taehyun felt rageous. Could a stupid war let him lose his loved one? Could he do nothing to save y/n from his greedy father?

This chapter it's a little bit shorter since we're coming to an end. Two chapters to go and then I will finish this story. I spend a lot of time writing and thinking about new ideas and I honestly hoped this story could reach more people. I will continue writing in the future as I already have ideas for three new ffs.
