warning: heavy dialogue at the beginning

"Hey, wake up!"

You groaned, tightly closing your eyes at the bright light that shone through your eyelids, and swatted a hand away that shook your shoulder. "Go away.."

"No, you have to wake up and explain something to us!"

The small hand shook your shoulder for the second time, and with another slap, you smacked it away with an annoyed huff, snuggling closer to yourself. Although your bed felt weirdly bumpy, you shook the intruding thoughts away, your fatigued mind only wanting to wander off to dreamland.

"Ow, that hurt a lot, you know?! Aether, why don't you try waking her up? Paimon doesn't want to get slapped again." A high-pitched voice rang through the air before soft footsteps shuffled towards your body. Knowing that you won't be getting any sleep soon with the loud commotion, you swiftly sat up, glaring at the people who woke you up.

"Seriously, can't you just shut up and... let... me..."

...

"Holy shit..."

Dark attire with golden stripes and a pure white scarf adorning his neck, light amber eyes softly gazed at you in curiosity as a familiar creature floated beside him.

The little fairy put her hands on her hips, looking at you in irritation. "Finally, you're awake now. Paimon almost mistook you for a rock because of how deeply asleep you were! But then again, you did move in the end to slap me, and because of that, Paimon wants an apology!"

"Oh my god," you breathed out, ignoring her words, "You're Aether," then your eyes switched to his companion, "And you're Paimon."

They glanced at each other in surprise, a silent conversation being held with their eyes. The male looked back at you. "How do you know my name? I don't think we've ever seen you before." Of course, they haven't, since they are from an open world game called Genshin Impact, a game that you've been playing for almost a whole year now.

"Oh yeah, my bad. I can predict the future and all, that's why I knew it," you jokingly said, not knowing that it was going to bite you back in the ass later.

Now that you surveyed your surroundings, you could clearly see that the three of you were on the beach at the start from the tutorial. Everything seemed exactly the same as you remembered from your memory. The sky, the water, the sand, the rocks, and bushes. Everything appeared realistic, if not, as if the landscape and sea were taken out of a fairy tale, and you plopped from out of nowhere into this new world.

When a small breeze passed by, something rustled at your hip, which caught your attention. Immediately, your jaw dropped at the sight of a familiar Vision.

"Am I dreaming?" You mumbled to yourself, gingerly touching the object. "Damn, I really have an Anemo Vision."

Furrowing your eyebrows, you analyzed the unusual shape of the Vision. You couldn't associate it with any Visions from Mondstadt or Liyue at all. The one thing that stood out to you the most was the outer shell that resembled a familiar star, although you couldn't remember where you've seen that kind of shape before.
