The cold wind whipped through the jagged cliffs surrounding stormterror's lair, howling as if it shared your unease. You paced back and forth near the entrance, your gaze fixed on the vast, stormy skies above. Every passing second felt like an eternity. Your friends had disappeared into the shadows of the lair, leaving you behind to wait.

A knot of fear tightened in your chest, fearing that they wouldn't return, that they'd be swallowed by the chaos within, even if your consciousness told you otherwise.

You thought of all the moments you had been together. The fun, the laughter, and the bond that had grown between you. These people had become more than just allies; they were your family now. Losing them was a terrifying thought, one you couldn't fully process. You felt useless standing there, separated from them in their hour of need.

Although Aether told you to stay away from the fight, you still didn't want to leave his side at all. Were you thinking about it too much? Were you worrying too much? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

A flash of light in the distance caught your eye. You rushed forward to the edge of the cliff, heart racing as you saw Dvalin clashing violently with your friends. The sheer size of the dragon dwarfed them, and with every beat of his massive wings, the air seemed to shudder with a primal force.

Your heart sank once more as you watched them fight for their lives, the battle raging on in the sky, endless and brutal. Lightning crackled across the stormy clouds, illuminating the scene in sharp bursts.

Minutes bled into hours, the battle becoming a blur of movements, elemental flashes, and roaring winds. You could barely make out who was winning, the tide of the fight constantly shifting. The fear gnawed at you, but you could do nothing but watch from afar, helpless. A distant part of your inner self whispered that maybe this was it, that they wouldn't make it out this time. But you shook it off, forcing yourself to trust them. They had come this far, and they wouldn't give up now.

Suddenly, the sky seemed to split open. A massive roar echoed across the land, and you saw Dvalin change, something breaking free inside him. With a final, desperate strike, your friends dealt the decisive blow, and the corruption around Dvalin began to dissolve. The dragon shook his mighty head, his once-maddened eyes now clear, filled with recognition and gratitude.

Without hesitation, Dvalin swooped down, his great wings stirring up a gust of wind that made you stagger backward. You watched in awe as the dragon gently gathered her friends on his back, cradling them with surprising care. They looked battered but alive and that was all that mattered.

As the dragon descended, his massive form casting a shadow over the land, he carefully lowered your friends near you, setting them down on the soft grass at the base of the cliffs. You ran to them, your heart swelling with joy. Dvalin, now freed from his torment, hovered above them for a moment before soaring off into the sky, his majestic form blending with the fading storm clouds.
