Cursedfire opened one eye as he felt the cold air from outside the den. He looked around and saw Smokecloud sleeping in his nest. He's asleep, I need to go. Cursedfire lifted himself up, instantly biting his tongue from the pain of his leg.

Cursedfire stepped out of his nest, hovering his bad leg over the ground. He slowly crawled out of the medicine den, his tongue now bleeding from biting it too hard. He limped towards the entrance, the left side of his face pounding with pain. He got to the entrance of the camp, now exhausted. I have to do this.

Cursedfire ignored the pain the best he could and kept limping towards Fourtrees. He was getting closer and closer, trembling from the cold wind on his wounds. Finally, he got to the narrow hill that brought him down to Fourtrees. He looked down and couldn't spot Halfpelt anywhere. She must not be here yet.

Cursedfire slowly crawled down, closing his eyes tightly as he felt his leg hit a rock. After the pain slightly went away he kept going down, keeping his ears open for any sign of Halfpelt running over. He got down to the smooth ground, finally falling to the ground and resting his leg. He panted heavily, looking down, his vision becoming blurry.

"Cursedfire?" Cursedfire lifted his head at the familiar voice and his eye lit up at the sight of Halfpelt.

Halfpelt, however, backed up as she saw his face. Cursedfire looked away, putting a paw on his scarred eye.

"I know, I look even more cursed now. You can admit it, but this is what a Sharptooth will do to you." Cursedfire meowed softly, sadness in his voice.

"Sharptooth? You went against a Sharptooth? How are you alive?" Halfpelt ran up to Cursedfire, her eyes looking over his wounds.

"Yeah, one of the kits went missing and I went to go search for him. He was trapped by a Sharptooth." Cursedfire meowed.

"You stupid Fleabrain."

"The kits are the future of the clan, I had to protect him."

"And now you're wounded."

"All scars tell stories, these scars we'll show a story as well."

Halfpelt glared at Cursedfire, but she soon sighed and looked down. She sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws. Her eyes met Cursedfire and he sighed, knowing what she was gonna ask.

"Fine, if you're just gonna argue with me I might as well get to the point. What did you need anyway? You made me sneak out so I deserve to know." Halfpelt growled, her eyes fierce.

"This is gonna be hard to explain. But I have a prophecy and...you're a part of it." Cursedfire looked down, not meeting her eyes.

"I'm a part of your prophecy? Why?" Halfpelt meowed, making Cursedfire sigh softly.

"Well...I was told to do what I thought was wrong..." Cursedfire looked at Halfpelt, his tail swaying.

"What does that mean?"

"Well..."

"Spit it out Cursedfire."

"I..."

"You what?"

"Ever since I saw you I've been thinking about you. You're beautiful and your image won't leave my head. I love your quick temper and stubbornness. You make me happy. I know this is random and I'm probably being fleabrained, but I needed to tell you."

Everything went silent and Cursedfire was scared to look at Halfpelt. He could feel the wind in his fur, his wounds aching. He began to tremble and slowly looked up.

"Halfpelt?" Cursedfire mewed, his ears going down as he heard Halfpelt sigh.

"Cursedfire...I couldn't get you out of my head either. Every time I tried sleeping, you were getting in my way. It made me angry, so I tried pushing it away. But, we're two different clan cats, we can't." Halfpelt meowed, not looking at Cursedfire.

"I know, but please Halfpelt, let's try." Cursedfire lifted himself slowly and licked her cheek.

They looked at each other, everything silent in between them. Cursedfire purred and touched his head to Halfpelt's. They were finally together, but how long will this last? Will it even last?

"Meet me here after the next gathering, I'm sure I will be mostly healed by then." Cursedfire meowed, making Halfpelt nod.

"I will. Now we both need to go back and be careful Cursedfire." Halfpelt purred, licking Cursedfire's cheek, and running back to her camp.

Cursedfire purred and turned around, limping back to camp.
