"Blazepaw! What happened? What do you mean Frozenclan intruders?" Coalflare went up to the apprentice, making Blazepaw look up at him

"They're coming here!" Blazepaw yowled, hearing shocked gasps from his clanmates.

"How many?" Ashblade, his father, meowed sternly.

"Almost all of their warriors! I needed to warn the camp so I couldn't get an actual number." Blazepaw stopped trembling and he held his head high. He didn't want to look weak in front of his deputy and father.

"Hethermoth! Warmthcoat! Take the kits to the nursery and keep them there! Singeingpelt protect the elder's den, and the rest of you, get ready to fight!" Emberstar yowled as he ran into the group of cats.

Hethermoth and Warmthcoat grabbed Firekit and Flamekit, quickly going over to the nursery. Orangekit and Emberkit were already in the nursery as the other kits were pushed inside. Warmthcoat and Hethermoth stood in front of the nursery, growling. Singeingpelt quickly stood in front of the entrance of the elder's den ready to fight.

"Hethermoth, what's going on?" Firekit nudged his mother's leg, whining.

"Stay inside Firekit." Hethermoth hissed, moving him back with her paw. Firekit fell back and growled, looking away.

Everything was quiet in the camp until the sounds of yowling and claws. Firekit could see Flamekit back up, trembling. Firekit didn't want to seem scared so he looked under his mother's legs and watched the battle. Frozenclan was attacking, and it was gnarly. Firekit could see Yellowstone fighting with Freezeblast, Frozenclan's deputy.

Emberstar was fighting a silver she-cat, while Singeingpelt was fighting a brown warrior in front of the elder's den. Firekit yelped as Hethermoth pounced forward and latched her claws into a black tom. He watched as they tore at each other, claws, teeth, and blood.

"Hethermoth!" Emberstar yowled, tearing himself from the silver she-cat, and ran over to his mate, claws unsheathed.

Emberstar grabbed the black warrior by his scruff and pulled him off of Hethermoth. The black cat yowled in pain and ran out of the camp. Emberstar licked Hethermoth's head and ran into battle again. Firekit, though, was creeping out of the nursery little by little to get a good view of the fight.

"Firekit! Back inside!" Warmthcoat hissed, and while her back was turned a Frozenclan cat jumped onto her back. She yowled with pain and rolled over, squishing the cat under her.

Firekit was pushed back into the nursery, everything turning black as he hit his head on something. Time passed slowly until Firekit heard a worried voice.

"Firekit wake up, please wake up." Firekit's eyes opened slowly and he was in the medicines den, Flamekit in front of him. He looked around and saw Sparkblast and Flarepaw laying in the other nests, cobwebs covering their wounds.

"Firekit, you're awake! I have to get Smokecloud!" Flamekit licked his brother's head before running out of the medicine den.

Flamekit sat up, wincing as his head pounded. He looked around and then touched his head, feeling cobwebs covering his fur. He turned his head as he heard paws running into the medicine den.

"Firekit, you're awake, I'm glad." Smokecloud meowed softly and stopped in front of Firekit.

"What happened?" Firekit rubbed his head with his paw while wincing, looking up at Smokecloud.

"Frozenclan attacked and while you were in the nursery you hit your head on a rock. You've been out since the battle, it's been just a day. Hethermoth and Emberstar will be so happy to see you." Smokecloud purred.

"Firekit!" Hethermoth ran into the medicine den and went straight for her kit. When she got to him she began licking his head over and over again, making Firekit wince.

"Is everyone okay? Did we win?" Firekit looks at Smokecloud, sadness in his eyes.

"Yes, we sent them running to their pitiful river." Emberstar walked in, making Firekit purr.

"That's great!" Firekit mewed, standing up, happy. Emberstar purred and licked his son's cheek.

Fireclan had won that battle, but in the future, there were many worse battles than that one. Battles that would become stories for the future clans.
