Chapter 6 - The Cult of Vecna

"Hail Lord Vecna!" Eddie shouted as he stood up from his throne, covering his left eye and hiding his left arm behind his back. The boys at the table erupted in boo's and groans.

"That's impossible! Vecna was killed by Kas!" Mike shouted. You couldn't help yourself but giggle as they covered their faces and yelled at Eddie for bringing back their most feared villain.

"There's no way in hell we're gonna be able to beat him" Gareth said to you, shaking his head.

----Everyone took their turn trying to do some damage to Vecna, to no avail, all except you and Gareth. Eddie turned to face the two of you,

"Lady y/l/n..." he began, bringing your attention to him, "roll for perception"

You did as he commanded, "shit, four," you said, Eddie shook his head and let out a devilish laugh.

"Vecna lets out a demonic growl, walking closer to you, but you remain hidden behind a pillar in the ruins. You think he hasn't noticed you, that he will just walk by and believe the heavy breathing he hears behind said pillar is nothing...but you're sorely mistaken!" Eddie responds, you groan in disappointment

"Gareth the Great!" He yells, Gareth looks to him, "You notice Lady y/l/n is in trouble, you can choose to hide yourself and stay safe from Vecna, or you can roll to attack him, distracting him so she may escape, but potentially wounding yourself in the process"

Gareth brings his hands into a fist in front of his mouth. You look to him with worried eyes, telling him not to sacrifice himself for you, that you can handle Vecna on your own. He sighs as he picks up a d20 and rolls it...10

"That's a miss!" He stands up from his chair and shakes his head, smiling at Gareth as his hair flies in front of his face, "You jump out from behind the wall and take a stab in Vecna's direction, coming within centimeters of his decaying skin, but leaving no mark. You are successful however in drawing him away from Lady y/l/n, who now has a chance at escape. Y/n, what will you do?" 

You have two options, you can flee, or you can attack. For the sake of Gareth, for the sake of the game, and for the sake of maintaining your relationship with the Hellfire club even if it means your character dies in the process, you speak up, 

"I lunge towards him while his back is turned to me, jumping on his back and stabbing him with my short sword"

"Roll for damage, sweetheart," Eddie hands you a d20. You throw it onto the table, it cascades across and lands just in front of Dustin, bobbing til it finally settles. Dustin looks up at you, his face beaming. 

The boys on his side of the table stand up and cheer for you,

"Its a 20! Its a nat 20!" Mike yells, grabbing onto Dustin.

"Well well, it seems Vecna has met his match," Eddie says as he looks up at you from behind his screen.

Eddie shoots himself back into his throne, groaning and choking as he pretends to die, letting his arms go limp over the sides of the chair. The boys all cheer as they high five you and shake your hand.

"Y/n, you're coming to Hellfire more often, no questions asked" Dustin says while shaking your hand over the table.

Eddie peeks through his closed eyes, fixing his gaze on you smiling and cheering with his boys. A small smirk appears across his face, he can't hide it.

"By Eddie, bye Y/n!" Mike said as he and Dustin walked out of the room, leaving you and Eddie alone to clean up the rest of the table. You can hear them talking about your win as they walked down the hall, making you smile.
