"Are you ready to see the new you for the first time?" You asked your cousin, while adjusting the dressing table mirror for her to see herself.

That day when the two of you had to stay at the farm because of another heavy summer rain, you decided to give her a super makeover. You took care of and straightened her hair with some tools borrowed from Aunt Sharon, did her eyebrows and gave her some more stylish clothes.

As anxious as Shelly was, she didn't take her hands off her eyes until you told her she could.

"I- I think I am." She answered.

"No need to be nervous, you look very beautiful." You assured her, putting your hands on her shoulders and watching the two of you in front of the mirror. "Okay, now you can see yourself."

Her heart was pounding with anticipation, she slowly took her hands from her eyes and opened them, being instantly stunned when she saw herself in front of the mirror again.

Feeling beautiful without someone having to tell her she was, was still so weird for her.

"Yes, I know." You said, agreeing that she looked so beautiful that anyone who looked at her would be speechless.

"I'm looking... Not ugly at all." She muttered.

"No, cuz, not even close to that." You said. "I told you you had a lot of inner beauty, you just needed to bring it to the outside and make yourself believe it."

She cried tears of emotion as she rose from her chair and wrapped you in a hug.

"Thank you. Thank you so much, thank you." She thanked you, almost a million times.

"It's nothing Shell, I'm glad I could help." You answered. "Oh, guess where I went yesterday?"

"I have no idea." She laughed.

"So I went to that ticket shop and saw that this week Now United is coming to South Park!" You happily announced.

Now United was a pop music group that your cousin and you were huge fans of, you had nothing else in mind to do with her and the girls on your first girls' night out.

"No way, I can't believe you did that!" She yelled, with great anticipation beforehand.

"So I went into the store and asked if they had tickets for the NU show and... They're sold out." You replied, trying your best to sound disappointed.

You had to hold back your laughter when you saw that she had believed your lie.

"Oh, it's- it's okay, we can do something else..."

"Ha! I tricked you, I bought the tickets!" You said between laughs, which surprised her. "You had to see your face."

"You're lucky it's tickets for Now United." She said, also laughing.

"Oh, Ken gave me something yesterday, he said it's for you." You said, as you went to your suitcase and rummaged around, until you found what you were looking for. "I'd rather wait until now to give it to you."

Shelly was curious, wondering what could be inside that cute little gift box.

"Who gave me this?" she asked, as she looked at the box in her hands.

"Why don't you open it and find out?" You replied with a smile, imagining how happy your cousin would be with that gift.

She opened the box, looking confused to think it was jewelry, but it was paper folded in half.

"I think you're beautiful just the way you are." She read what was written outside.

Shelly opened the paper, finding a beautiful drawing of herself as she looked before you gave her her transformation.
