You cried in despair, helpless when the people who worked at the morgue took your boyfriend's mangled body away from you.

A thunderstorm broke the silence of your desolation, you just couldn't believe you'd never see Kenny again, he was so young and the two of you didn't live even a third of what you had to live together.

The rain started to fall and you got up from the ground, your knees were bruised by the debris scattered on the asphalt. You ran to look for Stan, seeking solace for your loss.

But then, when you went to look for him at Kyle's house, you unexpectedly ended up running into Shelly. Like you, she was drenched in rainwater, looking just as shaken as you were.

The two of you looked at each other briefly, before she started crying compulsively. Soon after, you too burst into tears and wrapped her in a tight hug.

Wordlessly, your cousin hugged you again, allowing the two of you to share your pain, even though you didn't know what had happened to each other.

Timeskip...

She took you with her to her friends' house, you dried off and they lent you some clothes as yours were too wet to wear.

When you thanked them for their help and said you wanted to go home, their mothers said that it was best for the two of you to spend the night there, as the rain was too heavy to return to the farm by bicycle.

You agreed and Shelly called her mother to let her know.

"What happened to you guys?" Isabella asked, looking worried about the state in which you and Shelly arrived at her house.

Your cousin remained silent to her answer. You put your hand on her shoulder as a way of saying she could tell first if she wanted to.

"S-so, you- you remember Trevor and I scheduled to meet today, right?" She said, struggling to make the words coherent with her choked voice.

"Yes, what happened?" Clara asked, but she already imagined what could have happened. She expected no less from a cocky jock and asshole like Trevor.

"He laughed in my face and said he would never like an ugly girl like me." She continued, unable to hold back the tears that her heart had been broken.

"Aww, he didn't deserve you, cuz." You said while hugging her.

"Your cousin's right, shallow assholes don't make good boyfriends, they only care about themselves." Clara said, while patting her back.

"Look, I know right now it feels like you're going to be hurt forever, but you'll get over it, nothing lasts forever." You assured her.

"You think?" she asked, before sniffling.

"I know." You said while cupped her cheeks and looked at her face. Your cousin wasn't as ugly as she claimed to be to you. "Don't listen to him ok? You're beautiful, you just need to bring out all that inner beauty that I know you have inside you."

She gave you a smile, which made you smile back.

"Hey, what happened to you? Did my brother's turd friend broke your heart too?" She asked, as she took your hands in hers.

It was funny how it took a tragedy to happen for Shelly and you to regain the connection you had. Reminiscing about what had happened a few hours earlier made you want to cry again, but you needed to vent to someone about it.

"No, he'd never do anything to hurt me." You denied.

"So what did he do?"

"He didn't do anything, he was run over." You clarified, bursting into tears like never before in your life, your heart ached so much and you didn't know when it would stop, you were so in love with him. "Sometimes I think it would have been better if the car had hit both of us..."

You were suddenly interrupted when Shelly and her friends wrapped you in a group hug. They barely knew you, but they sympathized with your pain.

"How am I gonna live without my Kenny? I don't know if I can..." You muttered between incoherent sobs.

"Alright, you can cry all you have to cry about." Clara said. "You liked that boy a lot, didn't you?"

"I still do, he was so sweet to me." You replied, while trying to wipe the tears with your hands.

"Look, I know this might be the last thing you want to hear right now. I know it's impossible for you to forget about him, but I think Kenny would like you to move on with your life without being sad all the time for the what happened to him." Isabella said.

They were right about everything they said, but you still needed some time.

"Girls, I really appreciate your comfort and your words, but I wish I took the time to process it all. It hasn't even happened a day." You replied, as you lay down on the mattress that was placed for your cousin and you to sleep.

"That's totally understandable, take your time." She assured you.

"Don't forget that we are here whenever you need us." Shelly said.

"Thanks girls." You gave them a small smile, after which you leaned your back on the mattress and looked at the ceiling.

The four of you spent the night talking and sharing experiences with each other, you felt a bond with the three of you that you never even thought to feel with... Those girls you couldn't remember the name of.

The next day, Shelly and you prepared to return to the farm, but she told you that she would return with you to South Park later to find out when Kenny's funeral would take place.

"Do you think his family would mind if I showed up?" You asked her, a little in disbelief.

"Of course not, I mean, he must have told his family he had a girlfriend." She replied with a shrug.

You went looking for your bikes and they were still there. However, when you took out a key to unlock the padlock, you were startled when a hand suddenly grabbed your wrist.

When you saw it, a shabby, dirty thug was pointing a gun at your head.

You were about to scream when you saw Shelly held hostage by another bandit, who also had a gun pointed at her, but he threatened to pull the trigger if you didn't keep quiet.

"Let's make some money off these rich people's daughter." One of them said between maleficent laughs, which soon made you understand what they wanted with you.

"Take everything that is mine, just don't kill us, please..." You asked, while crying in fear of losing your life.

But then, when you least expected it, he fell to the ground in a faint.

Your first idea of what to do was to run, but you were paralyzed with surprise, seeing a boy wearing dark clothes, hood and what looked like a question mark on his head, attack the bandit that was with your cousin and knock him out like he did with the other.

Shelly ran, warning beforehand that she was going to the police station, but you were curious about your mysterious benefactor.

"Toy guns, what a surprise." He said as he grabbed some ropes and started tying up the bandits, but then he looked at you again, looking very worried about you. "Are you okay, miss?"

Even though it looked like you'd never seen him before, you had the strangest feeling that you already knew him from somewhere. You soon became curious about who he was.

"I am, it was just a fright, thank you for the help." You thanked him. "... Who are you?" You dared to ask afterwards.

After he finished with the evildoers, the boy wordlessly approached you, not taking his intense gaze off yours. Your heart sped up like it had only done with one person in your life.

Soon after, he slowly took off his hood and mask, making you gasp in completely shock to find out who he really was.
