If on the one hand you were very happy and excited that your parents would visit you very soon, your boyfriend didn't look like that much when you told him.

"What's the matter baby?" You asked him. "Don't you want them to meet you?"

"No babe, that's not the problem, it's just..." He tried to say it, but he couldn't seem to find the right words to do so.

You just smiled and walked over, wrapping your arms around his belly and giving him a hug.

"You know you can tell me anything." You said, before giving him a kiss on the cheek, which made him smile.

"Okay, I wonder what their reaction will be when they meet me."

"Will they think I'm the luckiest girl in the world for dating the cutest boy in the city?" You answered.

Although he didn't let it show, deep down Kenny knew he wasn't good enough for you, after all you two lived in completely opposite worlds.

You didn't care about that, but your parents might be different.

"Imagine what it's gonna be like, 'Mom, Dad, this is my foul-mouthed, perverted boyfriend who was once addicted to cat piss'." He said, the exagerate tone in his voice made you laugh.

"You can add 'funny' to the list." You said between laughs, which didn't lessen his concern.

"This isn't funny, I want to make a good impression on them." He said. Not long after he let out a big gasp, as an idea popped into his mind. "Hey, what if I pretended to be an educated, rich guy...?"

"No, stop these shit ideas right now." You interrupted him. "We're not in an '80s sitcom where you're gonna pretend to be someone you're not, only to be revealed at the end of the episode and learn a lesson that you should always be yourself."

"What the fuck do you want me to do then? They might stop us from seeing each other if they don't like me!" Kenny said with his hands holding on his head, seeming to get even more desperate about the situation.

"Whatever they think of you, my feelings won't change. They don't rule my heart, I like you, even with all the flaws." You said, which slowly caused the scowl on his face to soften into an expression of a lovesick fool.

You always knew what to say.

"You think so?" He asked, looking away in embarrassment.

"I don't think so, I'm sure." You assured it. "Are you doubting the love I feel for you Kenneth?"

"Oh no, I- I swear it's not that..." He quickly tried to recant, which you thought was adorable.

While he was tangled up in his own words, you approached him and kissed him on the lips. As if on instinct, he wrapped his arms around your waist and kissed you back.

"Close your little eyes now." You asked him with a smile. "No peeking."

Kenny did as you said and closed his eyes, knowing he was going to get one more gift from you. Even though everything you had already given him was more than enough, he couldn't say no to you.

After checking that he wasn't really seeing anything, you took from your bag a necklace, a gold flower pendant with a blue gemstone and the initials of his and your name engraved on the back.

"Okay, open it." You said.

Boys his age weren't very interested in jewelry, but Kenny was completely blown away by the necklace, which made you very happy.

"You liked it?" You asked, even though you know the answer.

"But It's so beautiful, babe." He said. "Will you help me put it?"

You nodded and Kenny turned around, facing away from you. You unzipped the necklace and carefully placed it around his neck. After observing himself with the jewel in the mirror, he came to you and asked if he could ask you something. You obviously said yes.

"Hug me." Your boyfriend asked.

You smiled and wrapped him in a warm hug.

"What if they don't let you stay?" He asked. "What am I gonna do without you?"

"Even if they don't allow it, it's gonna be okay, I'm not going to another planet." You laughed.

"For me it is." He replied in a despondent tone of voice.

"Hey, do you love me enough to get over the distance?" You asked.

He thought for a moment before answering.

"I do."

"Me too, we'll keep talking and I promise I'll come every vacation." You said.

Her comforting words made him smile and he started to feel less insecure about that possibility, you were right.

"I love you so much." He murmured, placing a kiss on her cheek.
