Months after that interaction, Jinx and Ekko started hanging out more outside of war. And by that I mean sitting in the same room together. But why were they even in the same room? Well, they were celebrating a victory in the war! Piltover had declared peace, and allowed Zaun to be separated, surrendering and losing the 19 month war. Jinx now had full ownership of Zaun, and was dubbed the official first Zaunite Princess, only to be Queen when she turned 21, as she was now only 19, or when she married which, to her, would never happen. She and Ekko were the most celebrated, but the other generals, sergeants and soldiers were celebrated as well. But for now, the two sat next to each other, laughing and talking.
"You know, I used to have a big crush on you when we were younger." Ekko chuckled.
"I do know! You were pretty bad at hiding it." Jinx laughed, leaning against him. "Why'd you bring that up?" She asked. "Ah, no reason. Everyone would always hype me up to ask you out, I'm kind of glad I didn't." He chuckled. "Why's that?" She asked. "You're awesome now, if you had someone to think about, worry about, you might not be as awesome." He shrugged. Jinx looked at him. "Now? As in, you still have a crush on me?" She asked, a small glimmer of hope in her eyes. Ekko cleared his throat. "Well...yes, yes I do." He said with a small smile. Jinx looked into his eyes, pressing a small kiss to his lips and giggling.
"We'll talk about this later." She said, then running off to continue the party. Ekko sat in wonder, he had a goofy grin on his face that he might not have noticed. He looked down at the ground and smiled. "Thanks Pow." He whispered, smile fading a bit as he thought back to the young girl he loved in his youth, compared to the adult woman he still loved. They were so different, but he took comfort in their similarity. They both had those adorable freckles, big eyes, a habit of lip-biting, beautiful blue hair, and they both were still her. deep down, he knew that he could get his Powder back, even if he knew that those chances were slim.
