Nine months passed like a breeze, for everyone except Jinx. While Ekko handled things like physical battles, going out and fighting, and preparing for their child to be born, Jinx was stuck planning strategies and working on weaponry. She hated it. The Princess ended up doing a lot of planning and frequently checked for updates of anything. Even though she'd kept herself busy, there was something that always seemed to catch her eye. There was a letter that'd been delivered to her by a Piltie, a letter that had the name 'Powder' transcribed on it. She knew the letter was from Vi, but she didn't have the strength to read it. She needed to stay stress-free for her child, which was something that made her stress out more.

Pregnancy was hard on Jinx. She had morning sickness, her ankles were constantly swelling, her nose got bigger, and her child was leaving her in so much pain that she was bedridden on the 8th month. She hated to be confined to any space. She felt trapped, choked, and overall, just tired of being a mother already. The only thing she got out of pregnancy, in her eyes, was that the voices had calmed down. As any good boyfriend would, Ekko was there for every doctor's appointment, waiting on her every need and becoming especially careful as to who was in her area at all times.

When it finally came time for the baby to arrive, you can imagine that it was at the most inconvenient time possible. While in the middle of a nap, Jinx was awoken to a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. At first, she ignored it, writing it off as her child kicking, but then she noticed that the pains were getting sharper and timely.

"Ah, shit!" She groaned, sitting up. After a bit of struggle, the princess waddled her way to the door and opened it, stopping the first guard she saw. "Help me to Heimerdinger." She frowned at the guard. She quickly made it to Heimerdinger's medical office, where she was laid out of a table and made to wait. Conveniently, today was the only day of the week when Ekko was out, and she was pissed about it.

"He should be here! Someone needs to get him here! I don't care who!" She rambled, even after the epidural, which caused her to quickly fall asleep. Luckily for Ekko, his child's birthing process took 16 hours, so he made it to help his girlfriend. Unlucky for Ekko, that meant Jinx had the opportunity to scream at him like he'd killed her dog. When she actually went into labor, she was calm, obviously in pain, but taking most of it out on her boyfriends arm, which was bleeding. The lashing out actually came during her contractions.

After those 16 long hours, the shrill cry of a baby could be heard. the cord was cut, and the baby was rested on her chest. A healthy baby girl of 8 pounds, Jinx was exhausted. Ekko looked at his daughter, and she was soon taken to be cleaned and clothed.

"It's a girl." He smiled. "Isn't she perfect?" He asked, looking at Jinx. The girl just nodded idly, looking over at him before back to staring off.
"What are we going to name her?"
"Lova." She finally said. "Her name is Lova." She said as her head began to nod, she couldn't keep herself awake anymore, and she was still losing a lot of blood. Actually, she was losing an abnormal amount of blood. Heimerdinger rushed to the Princess, doing his best to stop the bleeding and stitch her back up. By the time the bleeding stopped, the princess was stable, but unconscious. She slept for days, worrying the whole resistance, more so worrying Ekko, who had to spend his daughters first 4 days of life taking care of her on his own.

On the fifth day, luckily, the Princess opened her eyes. Slowly, but surely, she was able to sit up and actually hold her daughter again. She looked down at the tiny baby and her eyes stung with tears.

"She's so pretty.." She whispered. "What if I hurt her?" She looked up at Ekko. He shook his head, taking the newborns hand. "You won't. You'll keep her safe. I know you will." He said, looking down at his brown-eyed baby and smiling.

Once Jinx got a moment to herself, she finally got the courage to read the letter that Vi had left for Powder. It read:

"Powder,

Hi, Pow Pow. It's Vi. I heard your having a baby, congrats. I want you to know that I will always be here, and that I am so excited for you. But also, who has a kid in the middle of war? Thats a recipe for disaster! Either way, I'm proud to see how far you've come, even if I think you're fighting for the wrong team. I can't wait to see the baby, I hope they're as beautiful and talented as you are.

It's been a hard year or two, hasn't it? This is the last thing I expected to happen when I got out of Stillwater. And if I could change it, I would. I want you to know I think about you and Ekko all the time, and I am so proud to see the powerful, smart, ambitious adults you've grown into. Life is full of bumps, and this one will probably be the hardest for us all. But I'm here. I'm here whenever you need me, the Council doesn't have to know. If the baby is keeping you up and you need a break, I'm here. If you just need to scream at me, I'm here. Even if you're Jinx now, and even if all that's left of Powder is gone.

P.S.: Don't tell anyone I'm the one who told you this, but the Council wants to steal the baby to stop them from being raised to destroy and cause chaos, or something. Keep the baby safe. And be safe. I love you.

Vi"
