Chip N Dale Brotherly One Shots

I need you by my side

"Hey where'd you run off to buddy? I saved you a piece of cake." Chip said with a smile however, that smile was quickly replaced with a frown when he saw his little brother with a frown on his face.

"Dale? Hey what's wrong buddy?" Chip asked with a concerned look on his face.

"I just got off the phone with my agent he said that my show was canceled." Dale said looking down at the ground.

"Show? What new show? Why didn't you tell me about this first? We tell each other everything." Chip asked feeling anger rising in his chest.

"I just didn't want to get my hopes up so I kept this from you, plus I didn't want you to get mad or hate me for wanting to do something on my own." Dale said as he glanced up at Chip with a sad look on his face.

"I don't understand. You are already apart of a show Dale why would you be willing to risk all of rescue rangers? Don't you realize how dumb that is?"
Chip asked trying to control his temper.

Dale sighed and looked away from Chip's gaze "well I am the dumb one Chip."

Chip sighed sadly "look buddy I didn't mean it like that, it's just if you went on ahead and made a new show they might've canceled rescue rangers."

"Are you sure about that Chip? I'm sure they'd be able to find someone to replace me. I'm just the dumb one who gets hit in the head with a pipe each week and you're the favorite." Dale said fiddling with his fingers as he saw Chip look at him with a angry look on his face.

"Are you kidding me? So you decided to go behind my back and make a new show? Only because I'm a little more popular than you? Don't you realize how stupid that is?" Chip said feeling anger rising inside him as he clenched his paw into a fist trying to control his temper.

"Like I said Chip, I am the stupid one... I just thought if I quit the show and started my own show they'd keep making the rescue rangers and you'd be able to find someone who's better and smarter than me." Dale said looking down at the ground unable to look his brother in the eyes anymore.

Chip frowned and made his way towards his brother who had been sitting down on the couch and sat down next to Dale. "Dale no one would be able to replace you. If you quit the show then I would quit too because I can't do this without you I need you by my side Dale it just wouldn't be the same without you if you left." Chip said as he placed a paw on his brothers shoulder.

Dale looked up at chip with tears falling from his eyes which surprised Chip since he had hardly ever seen his younger brother cry like this. However, before Chip could ask why his brother was crying Dale pulled Chip into a hug which made Chip uncomfortable since he was never the type of chipmunk that liked hugs but despite this he hugged his younger brother tight since he knew that was what Dale needed at that moment.

A few minutes later the two chipmunk brothers pulled away from the hug. The two sat in silence together for a few moments before Dale spoke.

"So...we should probably go back to the party Chip. Gadget, Monty and Zipper might be wondering where we went." Dale said

"Oh you're right Dale, I didn't even tell them I was coming to find you. We should head back they're probably looking everywhere for us." Chip said and stood up.

"Wait...should we leave the cake here or bring it?" Dale asked as he looked at the cake.

Chip rolled his eyes of course Dale would be concerned about the cake Chip thought to himself. "Just put it in the fridge or bring it if you're gonna eat it right now but we should really get going so make a choice." Chip said as he saw Dale pick up the cake.

Dale stood for a moment before finally deciding to put it in the fridge and eat it later. "Alright I'm ready let's go Chip." Dale said and followed his older brother to the door and the two made their way back towards the party.
