Episode 7: Mission Failed
Ayino opened the door to her room. It had been a great holiday and she was looking forward to a long rest but she first went to her desk. She sat down and opened a drawer and took out a notebook labeled Diary. She opened to a blank page and began to write.
Dear Diary,
So I haven't written in this for some time now and I have been drawn here again. So where do I begin? So Christmas was fun and we all had a great time, New Years was a blast and now we are back to doing missions. This morning the captain got a phone call from an unknown number and told him the whereabouts of Evelin and her army. They are in Octo Canyon and we have to go to their wearbouts in the morning. So I must hit the hay.
Soon she was in bed asleep. When morning arrived, she woke up and she and the other agents began their journey. They splat jumped as close as they could and walked the rest of the way. Soon Ayumi was bored and tried to start a conversation.
"So does anyone have any idea who the "mysterious" caller is?" "Maybe another spy?" Said Ruby knowing she was a spy herself. "What about that agent 7 no one talks about." Said Josh. "How can it be agent 7. No one besides the Captain has seen him/her." Said Midori. "And besides if it was agent 7, he/she would have met us already because we are already here."
Midori pointed to a camp. They could see tents, computers and other technologies from the old warehouse, and the now large arsenal of old human weapons. And standing in front of the weapons was Evelin. The agents began to come closer to the camp until Midori stopped them. "If we go any further, we will be spotted." She said firmly. The group moved back to a line of bushes and Samantha took out her binoculars and began to see where to get in.
"All I see is one entrance and one exit." She said. "Where are they then?" Asked Ayumi impatiently. Samantha pointed towards the left at a gate. "That's the only way in or out, so we must find a different way in." The agents then all began to look around the camp and Ayino spotted a hole in some of the barb wire fence. "Let's go thru there." She said and everyone followed her in. They eminently went to the arsenal to take the weapons back. "Come on. Let's hurry before we're spotted." Soon they fell back farther into the bushes. They waited until night. "Maybe if we get in the camp now because they are all asleep." Said Ayumi.
"You're two late for that." Said a voice. The agents turned and there was Evelin with her army, her guns pointing at the agents. "Run!" And they bolted off. "Get back here! I'm not done with you yet!" Evelin shouted and the chase began. "Start packing up camp, we're moving back to our old base!" Shouted Evelin and she chased the agents.
They had to push past soldiers and had to dodge Evelins bullets. Soon they lost Evelin in the camp but they weren't alone. A soldier jumped out of a bush and ran into Midori and the two went tumbling into the ground near the edge of the platform. The two began to fist fight until Midori knocked the Octarian off the platform then, BANG! "Ahhh! My leg!" Midori shouted. A billet went into her leg and it was now bleeding. Evelin laughed and then ran from the agents. Midori was then being pulled on by the Octarian she had kicked off the ledge. Soon she slipped and grabbed the edge and now Midori was now hanging off the edge. Ayino ran over and grabbed Midori's hand. She tried to pull her up but her grip began to slip. "I can't hold on much longer, Midori. Give me your other hand!" Midori didn't have any strength left after all the blood she had lost. She looked up at Ayino and gave her a weak smile. "Ayino. I will see you when this is all over." Then her grip loosened and Midori then fell into the dark canyon. Ayino looked over the edge and shouted, "MIDORI!!!!"
"She's gone." Said Ruby as she put her hand on Ayino's shoulder. Ayino got up and hugged Ruby as she cried. Everyone took off their head gear and bowed their heads. "She will be missed." Said Ayumi. They all then went to retrieve what was left behind by Evelin but Ayino didn't help, she just looked down at the canyon as tears rolled down her face into it. "I wasn't able to tell her." She said as she held the golden whistle. She then put it back on her necklace and went to help the others.
( Dang I have so many problems with this story. First off its too short and second off its a terrible start to a very poor trilogy of stories. The golden whistle problem is back and this whole story is a problem to begin with. I hate it just as much as the rest of the trilogy. )
