I pull open the door by the handle. There stands Shane wear a tux. It looks even hotter than his usual work outfit.
Should I go for it?
I throw myself at him and he wraps his arms around me. I look up at him and feel our lips connect.
I went for it.
"Hey there," I say, once we break apart.
"It's nice to see you too" he replies with a smirk.
He takes my hand and leads me to the car, only breaking the grasp when I lock the door.
I sit shotgun in his top notch car. As we drive there, we sit in silence. The silence isn't awkward, but rather comforting.
The vehicle stops at a red stoplight. Shane reaches over and rests his hand on my leg. A slight shiver goes through by body at his touch. Rain starts putting from the sky outside, making this car ride even more relaxing.
Finally we pull up the restaurant. It has flashing lights, making it stand out from all the others.
It is called "Golden Gate".
Shane carefully parks the car and leads me inside. He tells the lady of his reservation and she takes us to our seats. She brings us to a table in the back with two chairs, across from each other. On the table sit two tall glasses, a candle, flowers, and silverware rolled in a cloth napkin. We sit down in our seats, that are made of a soft, fine velvet. Once I'm situated I look up at Shane. He is already looking a me. I let out a laugh."This is absolutely amazing!" I exclaim.
A huge grin spreads across his face.
"I'm glad to make you happy." he says, giving me a tingling feeling of happiness.
A short female waiter comes to the edge of our table.
"Hello I'm Marie and I will be your server tonight." She says as she places menus in front of us.
She walks away quickly and tends to another table.
I pick up the menu to decide on a drink.
Marie comes back."What's drinks would you like to start with." She asks.
"We would like to share a bottle of champagne. Is that okay with you Jenna?" he asks motioning towards me.
I quickly nod my head yes.
"Alright, I will be right back with your drinks and to take your orders."
"Thank you." Shane and I say at the same time.
She skips away.
We both pick up our menus again to find our orders."What are you getting?" Shane asks looking up from his menu.
"I'm getting capellini with tomato sauce. What about you?" I ask questioningly.
"Grilled chicken with a side of potato."
I smile and nod, as Marie comes back with a notepad and a bottle of expensive looking champagne.
She arrives at our table and opens the top of the bottle. She pours a generous amount in to each of our glasses and then sets the bottle on the table."Okay, what may I get you to eat?"
"I will have the grilled chicken with a side of potato, and the lady will have the capellini with tomato sauce and side salad.
"Salad dressing?"
"Red wine vinegar, please." I reply.
She quickly walks away. Shane picks up his glass and takes a sip, I do the same.
"So how did you end up here, in the town?" He asks me, out of the blue.
"Uh well, I got sick of living with my parents and in that town, so I decide to escape. That was one of the better decisions that I have made in my life, I have to say," I promptly reply."what about you? How did you hit it so big?"
He begins to go on about years of schooling and studying. Then, the launch of the company and the efforts it took to get where it is today. The story is generally boring, but since he is telling it, it is just fine.
Once he finishes, Marie comes down the aisle with two plates of food and a small bowl.
She sets the chicken and potatoes in front of Shane and the pasta and salad in front of me."Enjoy." she says with an oversized smile.
