He kissed my head.

"Goodnight. I love you," I whispered.

"I love you too. Sweet dreams, beautiful."

———

Raven slept great, but Beastboy didn't. He was extremely paranoid ever since their run in with Cain. He didn't let her go the whole night. Every single noise he heard, he tensed up and prepared himself to protect his Raven, no matter what.

Raven woke up in the arms of her love. When Beastboy saw that she was awake, he kissed her forehead.

"Good morning," he whispered with a smile.

"You're up? But it's early. Did you sleep ok?"

"Oh... uh yah. I just woke up just now."

Raven gave him a knowing look.

"We've been together for over a half of a year and known each other for years yet you still try to lie to me? Do you forget that I'm an empath?"

"I'm sorry."

"So what's the truth? Why didn't you sleep well?"

"I'm really worried about you, Rae."

"Worried about what?"

...

"Beastboy. What are you worried about?"

"Cain. I felt like if I fell asleep, I wouldn't be able to protect you. And I was so paranoid that every little sound put me on edge."

Raven kissed him.

"It's ok. Everything will be fine. Worst case if something happens to me, I'll be ok. I guess you could say that I'm kinda used to it. I'd get over it," she said in a joking voice.

Beastboy, being extremely tired and left with little to no emotional control, became furious. Before he could stop himself, his emotions came bursting out.

He sat up and tugged at his hair. His face held extreme anger.

"DANGIT RAVEN! DON'T SAY THAT! WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK THAT? DO YOU KNOW HOW MESSED UP THAT IS?" He yelled loud enough to get his point across but not loud enough to wake up Arella.

Raven was shocked that he yelled at her when he knows how much that bothers her. She had tears forming in her eyes. She got off the bed and started to walk out of the room.

Beastboy realized his mistake. But it was too late. The damage had been done.

"Raven wait!"

He grabbed her arm and pulled her back, but she quickly ripped away from his grip.

"Don't you dare touch me until you calm down. I don't know what made you think it's ok to yell at me, but that wasn't right. I don't want to talk right now."

Raven held Beastboy in place using magic and then stormed out of the room and into the bathroom. She shut the door aggressively and locked it.

Beastboy, once freed, sprung up from the bed and rushed over to the bathroom. He knocked on the door.

"Raven I'm so sorry. I didn't sleep last night and it messed with my anger. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. I promise. I was just scared and my fear came out in the wrong way. Please let me in. I need to make sure you're ok."

He heard a sniffle and then he heard her start sobbing.

"Raven you have to let me in. Please."

Beastboy saw a bobby pin conveniently placed on the ground next to him. He used it to pick the lock and walk in.
