Months passed by smoothly and winter rolled around. Sakusa and Kirika were going strong and nobody had found out that the first month and a half of their relationship was fake except for Komori who they openly told. He was extremely shocked, to say the least. From what he knew, Sakusa was a terrible actor. He didn't need to know that his cousin wasn't actually acting.

Kirika attended each and every one of Sakusa's volleyball games, cheering him silently from the stands, knowing it would probably embarrass them both if she cheered as loud as the fangirls. She congratulated him with a hug and a kiss after each win. in private of course.

She was currently around her boyfriend's house, helping him pack and prepare for the youth training camp he'd be attending before nationals with Komori. She was mildly disappointed that she wouldn't get to see him for a whole week despite him still being in Tokyo, though she was proud of him nonetheless and completely supported his dreams just as he supported hers.

Honestly, for two teenagers, their relationship was very mature.

"Kirika can you pass me the new pack of kneepads on the desk please?" Sakusa asked as he threw a pair of volleyball shoes into his duffel bag. kirika hummed in agreement, standing up from where she was rolling up workout clothes to fit in his bag better and skipping happily over to his desk, her long ponytail swishing behind her.

She made her way over to her boyfriend and grimaced at his messy packing, gently nudging him out of the way as she emptied the bag and began to skilfully roll his clothes to preserve space.

"Thank you," Sakusa mumbled, lightly kissing her cheek before clumsily copying her and filling his bag.

"Is there anything you're forgetting? or are you done?" kirika asked, placing clothing hangers back into his closet and clearing up the items they'd pulled out but hadn't ended up packing.

"Done." Sakusa dropped the bag on the floor by the door and ushered Kirika over to his bed, dropping onto it and pulling her onto his chest. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too." She leaned up and pressed a kiss to his lips.

It was a few days into the training camp and sakusa was beginning to feel frustrated. Sharing everything with dozens of dirty teenage boys was not an ideal situation for someone who valued hygiene over most other qualities, plus people kept trying to speak to him and all he wanted to do was play volleyball.

he did know Miya Atsumu from previous volleyball matches, but Sakusa thought he spoke too much and he acted way too comfortably around people he barely knew, which takes us directly to their current conversation.

Komori was there too, and so was a random kid named Kageyama that didn't really look like he was paying attention. Sakusa was zoned out for the most part but he snapped back in when girlfriends were mentioned. His girlfriend was his pride and joy, if he wasn't so introverted he would openly show her off to everyone he met.

"Omi, do you have a girlfriend?" Atsumu smirked cheekily, spinning a volleyball in his hand.

Before Sakusa could answer, Atsumu was talking again, "I bet you don't, you'd be the hardest person to date in the universe."

"I have a girlfriend," sakusa said, raising his eyebrows at Atsumu's comment, it didn't offend him because Kirika had said many times that she loved being in a relationship with him, but it pissed him off that Atsumu was making assumptions.

"I don't believe you, there's no way."

"He really does, his girlfriend is gorgeous too. They're the hottest couple in school." Komori defended his cousin, nodding happily. Sakusa was grateful.

"You're joking right?" Atsumu said, his eyes widening.

"Miya if they've said it's true it probably is..." Kageyama added quietly, sipping his water bottle.

Atsumu looked at Kageyama but ignored his comment, "Prove it."

Sakusa rolled his eyes but fetched his phone from his bag, FaceTiming Kirika. It rang a few times but she answered  despite being busy with her dads. Sakusa did eventually get to meet them and they were very approving of their relationship.

"Are you okay 'Yoomi? You're calling earlier than usual," Kirika's soothing voice echoed over the speakerphone.

"Oh my god, you're real?!" Atsumu shoved his face into view, making sakusa grimace at the proximity to Atsumu's sweaty hair. "Are you a model?"

Kirika laughed and her dads' smiling faces popped onto the camera to greet Sakusa. "Are you a friend of Kiyoomi's?"

"You could say that, we've played volleyball together a few times." Atsumu scratched the back of his neck. Kageyama peeked at the phone before wandering off, his curiosity being curbed.

"he didn't believe I had a girlfriend." sakusa frowned, moving the phone away from Atsumu and stepping away from the conversation so he could speak to his girlfriend alone. Atsumu carried on expressing his shock to Komori.

"And does his opinion matter to you?" kirika asked, her eyes staring into his through the screen despite walking through the streets.

"Not really, but the way he worded it pissed me off," Sakusa admitted, sighing exasperatedly and running a hand through his sweaty curls.

"Tell me about it."

"He was judging blindly and wouldn't let me get a word in, it felt like he was trying to embarrass me by saying no one would date me because I'm introverted and have weird hygiene habits." sakusa admitted. Kirika was the easiest person for him to admit his feelings to because she was so good at reassuring him.

"Well I'm dating you and I love all parts of you. It doesn't matter to me that you're introverted because I'm extroverted and more than happy to carry our conversations, and I'm happy you're hygienic because you're an athlete and anything besides hygienic would be gross."

"you don't mind that I always wear masks in public?"

"No, I don't mind" kirika smiled.

"I love you," Sakusa said, reassured.

"I love you too."
