When we got off The Metro, Clair wished us luck and headed of in her own direction. "I'll be in the Malt Mart run by Clint. If you need me, you know where to go." When we got off, we noticed large amounts of people everywhere. As we continued on, we saw hounds being walked by faceling, which made me question Kash. "There's this thing called the Level 11 Effect," she explained. "It keeps all the entities here passive." As we walked, I realised we were just following Kash. When I asked where we were going, she simply smiled and said, "Meet an old friend, hopefully crash at his place."
We got to a brown-bricked apartment building, nothing special. We went in, and I was surprised to see the interior in such a great shape. On the ground floor there was a immaculately clean rug, two armchairs and a coffee table, and an elevator in the back. We rode the elevator to the fifth floor, and Kash knocked on the second door to the right. A guy's head popped out, and surveyed us up and down before saying in a monotone, "Ah, how splendid. Human interaction is just what I needed today." Kash chuckled and said, "I know you love to hear from me, so thats why I make sure to come here often as possible." We were let in and given fresh clothes to change out of. I was grateful, considering I was still using the shirt I had when I arrived here.
We sat down, and Kash introduced us. "Guys, this is Newt. Newt, this is Ky, Columbus and Jay." She then explained why we were here and what we planned on doing. Newt's eyebrows furrowed into a frown. "Oh, no. My adventuring days are over. Don't expect me to come with you guys." "I'm not asking for you to come with us." Kash said, "Just tell us what you know about this guy. "Well, I don't know alot, but I sure as hell know more than you guys. First things first, he No-Clipped into the Backrooms in 2004, making him one of the earliest wanderers to come in. Second, he discovered Level 7 and 8, or at least helped to. He was never in the M.E.G or the B.N.T.G, but sometimes trades with them."
Thankfully, Newt was willing to let us stay for a day. We used that day to recover fully. We did have some breaks during our travels, but they were short and we didn't have enoguh time to talk. Now, though, I realised I didn't know how Kash and Ky got into the Backrooms. "Hey...how did you guys get here anyways?" I asked them. "Ran away from home," Ky replied. "Tripped on a curb and got sent here." "I was at a party when I went to look for the bathroom. Someone pushed me into a wall and now I'm here," Kash said. Me and Jay told them out stories and we chatted while resting our sore legs.
Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. "Hey, since there's a M.E.G base here, why don't we see if anyone can help us identify this guy? I mean, his name must be in there somewhere. Or, we could ask Clair." Everyone nodded in agreement. After we had sufficient rest, we set off the find Clair at the Malt Mart.
It wasn't so hard, since Clint was apparently a favourite among the wanderers here. We found Clair chatting with Clint happily, when she saw us and told Clint she'd be back in a few. "Yeah, what's up?" She asked. "Do you know the name of the wanderer who discovered Level 7?" I asked her. She thought for a while, and then said, "No, but I could access the M.E.G files since my friend told me her account so I could look at the less-restricted files whenever I wanted." She took out her phone and started typing. "Huh... that's weird. It's...restricted?" She showed us the page and it needed Overseer level access.
Suddenly, a boom shook the entire building, and people outside started running. When we exited the shop, all we heard were screams and shouts. I asked a person running by what was happening. "Entities, everywhere!" They didn't stay long before they started running again. When I turned to look at what they were running from, my heart dropped. Entities, filling the streets killing anyone they could get their hands on.
