My stomach sank as I looked at the thing that caused me so much pain in Level 5. Why him? I quickly rolled out of the way to dodge a piece or rock flying towards me. The others did the same as pieces of rock flew at them. One of Clair's men charged, but was struck with a tentacle that moved unexpectedly fast, knocking him down. He did not get back up. The rest of us, including the gods, tried to fend him off. King send entities his way, but Beast killed them in an instant. Eventually, the god got close enough for him to leap towards Beast and touch him. "NOOOOAAUUUGHHH..." His screams died out as he disintegrated into dust. "Hurry, we don't have much time. He'll be able to regenerate, since Elijah is helping him," said King.
After checking that the man Beast hit was actually dead, we pressed on, dealing with a few hordes of entities here and there. We eventually made it to the bridge, where Beast was waiting for us again. He wasn't alone, though, having the Skeleton Queen with him. We tensed. This was the moment we had been waiting for. We screamed as we charged into battle, gun shots from our side knocking down the opposing entities. Jay and I worked together to spray corrosive and flammable liquid on the entities, clearing the first line. King sent out entities as well, and the god just walked into the battlefield. All around him, enemies died and crumbled into dust, as more spawned in from Beast and SQ.
Just then, the ground where enemies once stood was completely uprooted, as Mother joined the battle. She was at least 10 feet tall, and used her long, sharp claws to dismember any entity that got in her way. Denizens, entities of where Mother resided, also swarmed out of the hole, melting any entity they touched into a sticky mess. Mother swiped at SQ and Beast, and while Beast was able to move out of the way, SQ wasn't as lucky. She was decapitated, dying in an instant. Eventually, the path was cleared and all that was left was an injured Beast. "Go on ahead." he groaned, "This ain't worth the trouble."
We checked the casualties, and found that two more of Clair's soldiers had died, and we found... "No, no, no, Clint!" Clair screamed as she went to his side. He has a hole in his chest, and his breathing was laboured. "It's okay," he murured, losing energy, "it was a pleasure to fight... with... you..." His eyes closed for the last time. Clair sat at his side and sobbed, mourning the loss of her closest friend. She stood up after a while, and we pressed on. Sensing the somberness, no one asked if she was alright.
Elijah was sitting on the floor with his eyes closed. "I was wondering when you'd show up," he told us. "No matter. You won't be able to get me anyways." King sent entities his way, but Elijah simply flicked his hand and they flew into the void. "The thing is, I never planned to end the Backrooms, not yet anyways. I first need loyal minions that will do the dirty work for me." He looked at Axel. "Ever heard of the Infinity Plan?" He asked Axel. Axel's face drained of color, and he said, "No. You couldn't possibly be this insane." "What's the Infinity Plan?" I asked Axel. He grabbed me by the shoulders. "Columbus, get out of here, get out NOW." Before I could react, a gigantic hole appeared in the sky, sucking everyone into it. First, Jay, Clair, Newt and some of the soldiers. Then, Ky, Axel and 1 soldier went next. The remaining soldiers were sucked in, but I was able to hold on to a tree, with Kash clinging onto my leg. Elijah smirked, as he sat on a rock. For some reason, the hole didn't affect him. "See you next time, Columbus," He said smugly. Then, me and Kash were sucked into the hole, and I blacked out.
