Under A Dark Cloud

Chapter 32.5

Cloud's Pov :

After my call from one of the boys, I decided to head back to the room. But before I went in, I calmed myself down first and put on a facade that it was just a regular phone call from a friend. I don't want her to know anything but I will tell her soon...soon...

I stood infront of the door and placed my hand on the door knob. I put on a smile as I twisted the knob and opened the door, seeing my cara  looking beautiful in her night dress. Seems like our little guy will be coming out in a few months soon.

Despite knowing that I startled her a bit, it didn't take me a second to know that there is something troubling her and she wanted to ask me something. Nevertheless, I still don't know yet, so I don't have to start jumping into conclusions yet.

" Sorry for the wait, Cara. Just some business calls I have to answer, that's all, " I said with a smile as I walked in and went inside our room.

I know I gave her a room already but I can't help being protective of her when there is a war coming and enemies may be lurking around, ready to strike or kidnap her, vunerable and defenseless. I don't want her to get caught up in this mess and get.... taken away from me.

Even so, That sad look in her face is killing me as well in the inside. My heart ached to see a frown in her beautiful face and hide things from her when we are already married couple but I know I have to keep it from her. It is for the best if she doesn't know anything yet.

I frowned when that frown etched in her face didn't leave yet as she stared at me as if trying to find something I have kept from her but I won't let her. Even if it hurts too much for me, I have to lie and keep it in secret to her.

" Hey, What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell or maybe dizzy? Should I get the medicine or maybe a doctor to check up on you and the baby?, " I asked worriedly, trying to make myself look casual like my usual self.

" Tell me what's wrong. I know that something's not right, " She said to me in a straight and clear voice.

' She's starting to find out but I have to keep lying to her and make her believe my lies. ' Call me a liar or anything you want but I did this to protect my wife.

My jaw clenched a bit as my eyes hardened a bit when a certain thought flashed quickly in my mind but I shook it off as I sighed. I walked towards our bed and sat down beside her on the edge of the bed.

I clapped my hands together and put on a face as I started to try and maybe change the subject, " So, Straight to the point then? I'm impressed that you know what's bugging me. Believe me. I- "

" Cloud, hun, Just tell me what's troubling you. I promise I'll try to be open about it , " She said with pleading eyes. That look already pained me to just give in and tell her but I have to go on. I sighed. Not because I wouldn't tell her. It's because I have to hide something from her.

" Ok. Jennifer will be staying with us here in the Villa for 2 days and she'll be coming over tomorrow morning, " I said slowly, hoping that this information is convincing enough for her to think that I am  worried about Jennifer staying here. Well, That part worried me as well.

" That's it?, " She asked me in a slight angry and accusing tone. She is trying to pry it off me but I wouldn't let her.

" That's it?, " She repeated again, this time in a low and clearly agitated voice. I looked sideways and turned to look at her and nodded. It was clear now she's already getting angry at me. There has not been a single day will I want her angry at me. Ever.

" Yes. That's pretty much it, " I answered it as casual as I can as if I was just answering a question.

" Well, ok then, " She said, looking away a bit and nodded before turning back to me. I frowned again. She looks as if She's keeping something from me as well. But I shouldn't jump into conclusions again.

She continued, " Then, Why did you let her move here? "

" Ok. Just let me explain, " I said, looking at her. I think she's starting to buy my lies.

" It's not that I couldn't refuse. Her father, Nonno's old and trusted friend, asked me if she could stay here while he's away for a short business trip. I couldn't just refuse him that easily. He's a very important....person, " I continued, nearly mentioning the word ' boss. '

She looked down and bit her lip. I know that she bites her lip when she's troubled or pissed. This has to stop for this is not good for our baby at all.

I tried to reach for her hand to maybe atleast calm her down but she pulled it away and slowly moved to her side of the bed. A frown was evident in my face when that felt like she just closed the door in my face.

I watched her as she got under the blanket and lied down gently. But she shifted to the side where I wouldn't face her like she used to, but to the wall instead. Her back was facing to me, making me feel guilty.

" Keira, baby. Please don't act this way towards me, " I said in a sad tone. Please don't act this way, please.

I wanted to lie down as well but I stood up first and took off my shirt before lying down beside her. I got under the blanket as well and moved a bit closer to her. My body ached all over as the feeling of wanting to hold her was getting out of hand but I knew through her body language that she doesn't want to be touched at all.

" Baby, please don't do this to me. Please don't ignore me, " I pleaded to her in a sad tone.

" Please?, " I pleaded again but this time, the sadness that was clear in my voice that I am pained.

" Ok, " She said softly. That alone made a small part of the weight in my heart lift for a bit. I immediately wrapped my arms around tightly but not tight enough for her to feel uncomfortable.

I buried my face in her neck, inhaling that sweet yet calming scent she has. That scent that makes me calm and at ease whenever I am slightly stressed or angry.

" I love you so much, cara mia, " I murmured as a placed a small kiss in her neck.

I smiled when I noticed her body had calmed down and relaxed. And at the same time, I feel at ease and relaxed as well. I welcomed the embrace of sleep as I fell into it as I relished the feeling of my cara in my arms as well.

At midnight, I immediately woke up, remembering that I have to make an important call yet again. I wasn't intending to be left here unprepared for the unforeseen danger.

I opened my eyes slowly to see her beautiful sleeping face in my view. I smiled when I also felt a tingly feeling in my lips. I guess she kissed while I was asleep. I placed a soft and gentle kiss in her forehead, not wanting to wake her up. She stirred a bit but a smile formed in her lips when she cooed a bit.

That was really cute and I wish I had video of it or maybe see this kind of side of her as well. She really is beautiful in every way, even in her sleep. Unlike the other women I've slept with who snores like a pig, She doesn't snore at all but makes soft breathing sounds that instantly washes your worries away.

Despite wanting to stay in the bed with her all day long and never leave her side, I have to go and prepare. Slowly but gently, I moved her soft arm from my waist as I gently scooted out of the bed without waking her up.

I finally got on the edge of the bed and slowly stood up. I quickly grabbed my phone in the table as I put on a polo shirt. But before I could head of towards my office, I looked at her sleeping form once me. I smiled as I murmured,

" I won't let them take you away from me, I promise. "

I slowly strided across the room to the door and opened it, making no sound at all. I looked at her sleeping form again and smiled as I went out and closed the door slowly with a soft click.

As I walked down to my office, I knew I had to go back to the room or it will cause suspicion to why am I not there beside her. But so, I will have to get back in there after I finished today's preparation and work.
