I held David in one arm as he obediently behaves for a kid as young as him while I called Ashlyn,
" You sure you don't have time to babysit David, Ash? Even just a little bit of your time till I find a temporary babysitter to take over for you? "
" I'm serious. Today has just been unusually hectic for just morning hours. I'm sorry. Even Dylan couldn't take care of David today. He says he's going to go somewhere important and he won't be back by tomorrow. I'm really sorry, Kei. I- Oh shizzlebits. I have to go. Take care! " Call ended.
I eyed my phone screen and bit my lip. Great. Ashlyn is out of the picture to ask for help to look after David while I'm busy working at Rolls n' Spin and I don't know anyone who's good at taking care of kids.
I glanced at the phone in my hand then looked at David. I sighed and made my decision and gave him a kiss on his forehead.
" Ok, my little angel. You're going with me to work and just be a good boy while mommy is working, ok? "
David just stared at me and then gave me a smile as if he understands what I'm saying. This melted my heart as I give him another kiss in the forehead as I headed to Rolls n' Spin.

As I arrived to work early, I expect everyone to be busy fixing bikes, reparing parts and all. And I kind of hoped that they wouldn't see me pass by with David in my arms. But nope, expectations have to go to the opposite side.
The moment I took a step in the concrete floor, everyone just seems to look up and was surprised to see me with a new little guest. The air was still until Blaze walked across his station towards me with all smiles as he held his hands up to David.
" May I? Don't worry. I haven't started my work yet and my hands a' clean" He asked, holding his hands up to prove that they're clean and is clear to see that he's eager to hold my son.
I was surprised at first to see Blaze looking a little fatherlike with my baby boy, making funny faces, earning him my baby boy's laughs in return. He looked up at me with a smile as David grabbed Blaze's short ponytail.
" This your son? " I nodded. That's when someone whistled and the tension broke.
" Thats it. Blaze is gone. Stick a knife in him. He's ready for fatherhood with his old lady! " Someone said out loud, getting chuckles from the people around as some went to Blaze to play with my son while some went back to work.
I guess that was a turn of events. It was doing so well and everyone was ok with me bringing my kid to the shop. But it's funny though how big tall rugged looking mechanics and bikers are actually real softies.
While others are busy having a competition to see who can make David laugh more, Engine appeared beside me and asked,
" You brought your kid for show and tell or you brought him here to learn like his mama? Because in my opinion, you brought your kid here to make Striker look like an idiot. "
Engine laughed as I giggled and watch Striker awkwardly holding my son while the other members joked on how nervous he looked and teaching him how to hold a kid properly.
Striker turned David to face him and pouted, " They're bullying me because I can't hold you well. Please tell them to stop for me, kid. Pretty please? "
As if David understood what Striker was saying, he faced the other bikers and raised his arm up and down.
" Goooogaaaahhh! "
It melted the bikers' hearts as they tried to look ashamed for bullying Striker as he looked proud and stuck a tongue at the other bikers till the other started a hearty laugh.
