I wrapped my arms around my knees, sighing as silence fell among us. I looked up getting blinded by Atlantas melting sun, though making its forest look beautiful than ever. I turned my head over to Beth, noticing her slightly picking on her food. Not blaming her, snake meat wasn't my cup of tea either. Turning my head over to Daryl, noticing him hesitant at first then he dug in. A small smile peered on my face resting my chin on top of my arm gazing around.
''I need a drink'' Beth spoke, looking at both Daryl and I. I watched as Daryl grabbed the bottle of water and tossed it over to her. Blinking, myself kept on a straight face and didn't make any type of comment.
''No I mean a real drink'' She pushed the bottle away from her ''As in alcohol''
That is when I looked at her and raised my eyebrows. We are in the middle of nowhere, where in the hell are we suppose to find alcohol?
''I've never had one. 'Cause of my dad but he's not exactly here anymore soo I thought that maybe we could find some'' She said looking at me but mainly Daryl since he is the one in charge and is good at tracking. I opened my mouth to say something watching her eyes light up but closed it afterwards not really wanting to state my opinion nor hurt her feelings. I'd rather go and find Carl, my mom and the rest of the group which i'm terribly worried about instead of sitting here thinking about finding booze.
''Okay, well enjoy your snake jerky'' She rolled her eyes and got up, taking her knife and walking off.
''Beth'' I called after her, but she simply ignored and continued walking until she disappeared.
I looked at Daryl sighing ''We'll just let her go?''
''Made her choice'' He mumbled shoving his hand inside my bag tossing me my prescribed pills. I took one from each 3 bottles swallowing them dry stopping him from giving me the bottle of water.
''Could've taken them easier with water'' He said dryly putting them back to where they were.
''Why waste water?'' I asked fiddling with my hands. I could feel the tension between us hell anyone would feel it. I can see that something's up with him, by the way he talks, looks and his body language. He wasn't acting like himself these past 2 days. Last time we had a conversation and when he acted like himself was when my worst nightmare came true. I try not to think of it and is still positive that they're all alive, maybe that's the reason maybe he lost hope or maybe he's still upset that I didn't tell him about Jacob.
My palms started to sweat wanting to say something, wanting to make sure he was alright but nothing came out. I just didn't have that confidence and courage to start a conversation with him like how our conversation used to be.
We both jumped up hearing growls, myself having my handy knife in my right hand and Daryl having his crossbow lifted up. He walked and I followed soon enough spotting Beth hiding behind a tree.
''There you are'' I sighed in relief thanking god she was okay. Daryl's face was filled with annoyance and he just walked off us of course, following behind.
''I think we made it a way, I'm pretty sure we got to go that way to find the booze'' Beth told Daryl tripping over the metal bars she hung earlier.
''What the hell? You guys brought me back. I'm not staying in this suck-ass camp'' She raised her voice, flipping Daryl off right towards his face (myself thinking it's a horrible idea).
''Beth'' I exclaimed stepping in, shocked by her actions.
''Hey you had your fun'' Daryl grabbed her wrist, clearly pissed off.
