Chapter 11-Final Two Days of Ski Trip

Chapter 11

December 19th-Day 3, Ski Trip 11 am

Heather's Pov

After breakfast that morning, I found John he looked like he was about to head up to his room to get his snowboard. " John," I said.

"Hey Baby, what's up? I'm just going to grab my board you can come up with me," he said casually.

"We don't have a lot of days left on this trip. We haven't spent any time together, I'm going skiing with Joey and Anabella. Are you coming with me or going snowboarding with your buddies?" I asked. I was starting to think it was time for John and I to break up. Our relationship was falling apart pretty fast as of lately and it killed me.

"Fine. I'll go skiing with you, let's go get me some skis from the shop," he said after a moment of silence.

"Good," I said. First, we got my skis from the room and then went to the shop to rent skis for John.

We met Joey and Anabella and we headed for the slopes, taking the ski lift up to the top of the run.

Even though we were on the bunny slopes, Ana was still falling and awkward on the skis. Joey was helping her though and soon she was gaining confidence and skiing down the mountain.

3 pm

Anabella's Pov

We spent the whole morning out on the slopes and were having fun, all except John who looked bored. Finally, we went to eat a late lunch at the restaurant that was near the lodge.

"Baby, you are getting so much better," Joey said happily, excited.

We were sitting at a table with Heather and John, and both of them looked upset. I had no clue what was going on with them. I smiled at Joey," Thanks," I said with a smile on my face.

"Maybe next winter we can go skiing with my family and I can teach you some more so you get better, practice helps," he said.

I couldn't believe that Joey was already thinking about next winter for us, I loved it. I liked him so much and wanted to be around him all of the time. A waiter approached our table and took our orders for lunch.

After a wonderful lunch, Joey and I went our separate ways and returned to the Lodge. We went to the bar there and ordered hot chocolate and sat by the fire, talking to each other.

"Our trip is coming to an end," I said sadly," Tomorrow we leave."

"I've had the best time with you," he said softly and took my free hand in his free one and held it.

"Monday starts finals," I said," The semester is nearly over."

"Yeah. It's been a rough semester," he said.

"When do you go back to band rehearsals?" I asked.

"January 2nd," he replied.

"Wow you don't get much of a break, just winter break and then Christmas break after finals," I said softly.

"I'm surprised that we've gotten even that much of a break," he said honestly," Maurice keeps us busy."

We sipped on our drinks, while we talked about various things. We always seemed to be able to find things to talk about with each other. Joey was easy to talk to and I loved that. When we finished our hot chocolates, Joey leaned over and kissed me.

"What was that for?" I asked after he had pulled back.

"I just felt like it," he said with a smile on his face.

Getting up we returned our mugs to the bar and then decided to do a puzzle. The lodge had games and puzzles.

December 20th- Day 4 Ski Trip Final Day- 10 am

It was the final morning of our ski trip and we had just enough time for breakfast and one last run down the mountain before we had to head home. We put her bags underneath the bus and climbed onto the bus. Joey and I sitting together and Heather sitting behind us, she wasn't sitting with John.

"We have two days of finals. I am not going to make it out in one piece," I said.

"I'll help you study Baby," Joey said.

"Thanks," I said.

Mr. Bennett did a head count and then the bus pulled out onto the main road as we headed home. It had been fun but now back to reality, it was going to suck, but that was life.
