It's been 2 months since Bradley joined the Army and has been away from home since. Every week, he would get one video call from his family and he even write 3 letters to his family, one for his parents, one for Ben and one for Hailey and he had them send to Los Angeles, hoping that his family would read his letters.
Shane gets a video call from his pregnant wife, Lori once a week to see how her pregnancy is going without him. Leanne continues to teach and train Bradley and the other cadets, and Bradley continues to start making conversation with Leanne, usually after training, despite warnings from Shane.
One morning, whilst Bradley and the other cadets are getting ready for their morning training, Chris, Nick and Leanne makes a very important announcement. "Morning, cadets!", Chris greeted. "Morning, Sarge!", all of the cadets greeted at the same time.
"Today's morning training is going to be very different this time. Major Sutherland has more info about this. Major?", Chris asked, as Leanne gets up and gets ready to speak. "2 months ago, our Army Base received a telegram from the Russian Army, who is willing to invade this state of our country.", Leanne replied, which shocks Bradley and the other cadets.
"General Sutherland is aware of this and he had sent all of our soldiers out to fight during the past 2 months, but many soldiers have been wounded or killed during those 2 months, and we're short on our soldiers. So, General Sutherland is now going to send all cadets group, including ours to fight.", Leanne replied, which the cadets even more.
"Starting today, you'll be training hard for this dangerous mission, you need to train fast and hard, if you don't want to get yourself killed. Let's get started!", Leanne replied, as the cadets gets into hard-work training. Bradley starts training harder than before and learn more about dangerous wars, and even do late night physical workouts, during lights out at the gym to get faster and stronger.
During those times of training, Leanne has been watching Bradley doing his late night workouts after light outs every night before leaving the Base to head back home. Leanne heads home after a long day at the Base. Her mother, Julie, who is watching TV with Victor, hears her coming in. "Leanne, is that you?", Julie asked. "Yes, Mom. It's me.", Leanne smiled. "How's training going?", Victor asked.
"Going great, we're nearly halfway.", Leanne smiled. "Good, keep it up.", Victor replied. "Yes, sir.", Leanne replied. "You know you can just refer me as Dad at home.", Victor smiled. "I know, I'm just used to calling you Sir at the Base, than Dad.", Leanne sighed. "Fair enough.", Victor smiled, as he resume watching the TV. "Hey, Mom! Is there any leftovers from dinner for me?", Leanne asked. "Oh yes dear, there's a plate of pasta, in the fridge, for you.", Julie replied.
Leanne sees the plate of pasta, that her mother left for her and takes it out of the fridge. "Thanks, Mom.", Leanne called out, before heating it up and grabbing a can of La Croix sparkling water from the fridge, and enjoys her late night dinner in her room. During that time, she is thinking about Bradley and when she saw him working out late during lights out.
She even thought about the time when she helps him treat his paintball bruises and when they start conversation from the beginning. "What am I getting myself into?", she asked herself, but she tries to brush it off, and heads to bed for the night. Meanwhile, Bradley returns to his room to sleep, but he couldn't sleep due to thinking about the mission and his feelings for Leanne.
