After a while I stopped bothering about the shifts.
I didn't realize when we landed, I was too busy watching Ellis sleep and the 'Back to the future' was pretty good, I had watched it so many times before to a point where I can literally say what happens at what time.
We did leave the plane and Sylvin being Sylvin, he stubbed his pinky toe in his luggage and screamed, "Holy piece of fat friar!"
Everyone burst out laughing.
As far as it goes, we were banned from saying the f-word because... that day. Everyone had a knack for saying that word, no one really cared what people thought. Until we had a small function in a school and we had to play a couple of songs, Sylvin told Veronica to keep her breasts in place or else all the high schoolers will try to stick their tongues down her throat. Veronica responded by telling him, "Fuck off, I am very aware, fuckhead." In front of the audience, on a microphone. Donny was so pissed that day, and that if anyone f-ed up with f-word again, he'll fire us.
We have came up with some pretty good euphemisms since then but the funniest one had to be 'frickin umbrellas can knock!'
We were headed to Toronto's Iverson Concert hall, our hotel room was also nearby, I went over to talk to Sylvin about the weather and stuff, but he was looking at the group of college students near the water fountain.
Veronica came up to everyone and said "whoever picks up someone wins 10 greens from each."No one was in, so we just continued walking. Then a girl, a year younger than me, came up to me and said, "you're Shawn Adams from Sunshine."
"That I am, nice to meet you."
"Hi, I'm Victoria, I'm here for a college trip."
"I'm here on tour."
"Damn, I got tickets to the front row, so I can see you clearer."
"Aw thanks." I said, then the world around me felt light, as if I was slowly fainting, slowly... slowly and slowly.
The gang was pretty far off, so I was off as well following a flying kiss to my fan as I left in the distance.
I realised that I should probably shut up about all the problems I've been facing because mainly I'm just making a huge fuss out of them, maybe if I just appreciate life as it is then I'll be happier.
Unfortunately Moonrise walked past us and called dibs on first rehearsal. So that was the end of my 5 second optimistic attitude.
I bumped into something soft as I walked with my head full of thoughts.
"Oh! Distracted, little man?" A familiar sweet voice called out.
"Hello Ellis, sorry for bumping into you."
"It's okay, I was waiting for you anyways. Everyone left in a hurry because Donny said the stage was first-come first-served."
"Then shouldn't we hurry?"
"Not really, we were planning on getting the stage first and then goofing off until Moonrise caught up."
"Heh, that's funny."
I tried walking fast but she held my hand, so I walked slower.
Why does she keep holding my hand? She's so close.
Does she like me? I don't know.
It seemed pretty far fetched mainly because she holds Veronica's hand sometimes as well.
"Hey, Ellis?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you hold people's hands often?"
"Nope, just the ones I really like."
"Aw, how nice. Have you tried holding Raven's hand when she least expects it?"
"Not really, but I'm afraid she'll break my hand."
"I'm afraid about that as well, but it's worth a shot."
"Maybe I will." She said, giving me a smile that was brighter than sunshine.
