Suna laughed, a disbelief laugh.
"thats a joke right? That's so funny y/n look! Elle wants to take custody of mei" he said while laughing, but those laughs soon turned to tears and sobs.
I hugged him for comfort, letting him cry in my arms. He's been through so much pressure and this will be adding to it. I feel so bad.
"rin, rin it's okay were gonna keep mei im sure. We will call the number and see whats going on and if its true dont worry we're strong together. My sister is a lawyer and she's won many custody cases dont worry we'll fix things" I said.
"yeah... okay". He calmed down a bit. He thanked me for the comfort and hugged me again.
"wanna call now?" I asked.
"yes lets get this shit done before it gets worse".
I called the number found on the paper, soon the number on the other line picked up.
"hello? Are you Suna Rintarou?" the random man asked.
"no im uhm...?". I didn't really know how to inform him about what I am to him because our relationship is half talking stage half.... unknown?? You can say that.
Rintarou took out his phone and typed 'girlfriend' in an empty notes page. Woah.
"Ma'am are you there? If this is stupid im gonna hang up, its 10 at night so-"
"girlfriend. Im rintarou's girlfriend. Whats all the shit happening with mei's custody?" I asked, putting the phone on speaker.
"im the judge working on this case. Elle signed sheets and opened the case of the custody for Suna Mei. She mentioned that suna took mei away from her when she was 1 years old and broke up with her, kicking her out of the house and separating her from her daughter, so she wants to take mei in. You have to be in the court tommorow by 5:30 since mrs. park wants it to end quickly. Thats all" He mentioned.
"are you kidding?! You're saying we have to get proof, a lawyer, explain everything to mei, get ready physically emotionally and mentally in a matter of 15 fucking hours?" I screamed in the phone's speaker.
"matter of fact that little innocent angel elle is lying. She lied to the government if you dont fucking realize that. Suna never took mei and-" The judge cut me off- stopping me from continuing my complain about how fucked up this is.
"you can say all of that tommorow in court, all blessings towards you." He said, hanging up.
"fucking asshole". I threw my phone on the table. Suna looked half mad half scared.
who does this bitch think she is.
"leave it to me rin, im gonna try my best to make us win that case" I smiled at him.
"im gonna go home now and work on it, you tell mei about everything. As soon as you're done call me and help me get proof and all because I of course don't know everything and ill contact my sister as well" I added.
"okay thank you so much". Rintarou gave me a big hug and let go, allowing me to go home.
"dont stress about telling her okay rin?"
"okay dont worry" he assured.
Next day , Court , 5:20
"she graduated from prison 2 years ago sir, and she dosent have a father figure to take care of her daught-"
"objection your honor, I have a boyfriend as well. I think its pretty unfair to allow suna to keep mei while he isn't even married to miss l/n, while im not allowed." elle said.
"okay, you can continue lawyer l/n" the judge told my sister.
"what Elle Park mentioned was obviously lying and we have proof for that. Suna never did and never ever would take his daughter to raise her on his own. She attempted a murder on mei sir. A murder. Maybe it happens again? The whole blame will be on your own government, on you, and your choice." she argued, we spent until 4 am trying to get enough info to keep mei.
The judge took 5 minutes, thinking and collecting information, "Anything else you would like to share?" the judge said, looking around us.
Elle's lawyer raised his arm, making the judge nod to make them start speaking.
"elle is an unemployed woman who dosent plan on getting a job anytime soon while her boyfriend works a very good job that pays well. While y/n is a teacher who works on daily basis, and suna is a very famous and busy volleyball player, meaning that they won't have time for mei at all so its better to keep mei with elle. Mei might have said she wanted to stay with suna, but saftey comes first"
"y/n is mei's teacher sir, Its the same thing of spending the day with her at home!" my sister interrupted.
"who allowed you to talk? Y/n would keep her attention on other students." Elle argued back.
The judge knocked on the pad with his special hammer and announced, "Enough, decision will be made in 5 minutes."
In court , 5 minutes later.
"Okay everyone sorry for the long wait, I also apologize for each side. Suna Mei is staying with Elle Park." the judge announced.
Elle was smiling. It didn't look like a happy smile at all, it looked evil.
We walked out of the court holding hands. Rintarou was shaking crazily.
"mei you're going home with mommy!" elle exclaimed holding mei forcefully towards their car.
"no i wanna stay with dad!" she exclaimed.
"no you're staying with me". Elle opened the car door and started putting her in.
Mei moved aside from elle and ran towards me, she was the saddest I've ever seen her.
"I WANT TO STAY WITH MOM!" as she hugged me tightly.
