Nico - Research and Discoveries

After Boston, I was feeling much, much better.

I knew for sure that Percy didn't hate me. And Annabeth's texts have stopped, though I'm not entirely sure why.

Now, Sunday night, Percy and I were sitting in his room. Alone. His mom, Sally, and step-dad Paul left to run some errands and wouldn't be back til 8. So Percy asked if he could invite me over for a 'platonic hangout between two friends'.

We spend the first hour making out. Very platonic.

Now we we just sitting in comfortable silence. After everything that happened at the theatre, I wanted more than everything to tell the world that Percy Jackson was my boyfriend. Our whole friend group now knows already, but they swore on their lives that they wouldn't tell anyone. And they promised to make sure Annabeth kept quiet too. But, still, part of me didn't want to tell others we were 'just friends hanging out' when we went on dates. The other part understood that Percy needed time.

Speaking of Percy, he was staring at me very intently. "What?" I asked. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Percy said, snapping out of his gaze. "I just- I have something to tell you."

"Go on."

"I've been looking up things about my... sexuality. And, it took a while, but I think I know what I am. But I also wanted you to be the first to know."

I flashed my most reassuring smile, and he continued. 

"So, I think I might be pansexual. It means that I don't really think about gender when I fall for people, which I think is true. I always liked people more for their personality than what their gender was. Like you." Persy added with a grin. 

I felt myself smiling even wider and engulfed him into a hug. "I'm so proud of you. And I'm so glad you were able to figure yourself out. I know how hard it was."

Percy wrapped his hands around my waist and looked at me. "Thank you. For being there for me, I mean."

I cupped his face, looking directly into Percy's sea green eyes.

"I'll always be there for you. Always."

"Thank you, Nico." Percy said. "You have no idea what this means to me. I've been thinking about it and I don't want our relationship to be a secret anymore. I want to tell people you're my boyfriend. Starting with my parents."

My eyes noticeably widened. "A-Are you sure? We don't have to rush things just because-"

"I'm sure." Percy insisted. "Besides, why wouldn't I want to flaunt around my amazing boyfriend?"

We kissed, but it was soon interrupted when Percy pulled away.

"What's wrong?"

Percy frowned "My parents just came in. Didn't you hear the door?"

"I'm gonna let you think about what you just said."

"Right. Sorry." Percy said with a sheepish smile. "I can't believe it's already 8. I thought I'd have more time with you.

I laughed. "Percy, we'll see each other at school. Besides, I should get going anyway. So you and your parents can talk."

Percy groaned and whined about how unfair his life was as he walked me to the door.

Ms. Jackson started talking to him as he walked by, but she spoke so fast I didn't catch a thing she said. Then she turned to me, talking even faster. She must've been excited to meet me or something.

"Mom!" Percy interrupted. "Speak a little slower, please? Nico has no clue what you're saying."

Her mouth made an 'o' shape and she turned to me again. "I'm so sorry, Nico! I was just so excited to meet you, especially after hearing all these nice things from Percy. Would you like to stay for dinner? We're having tacos!"

I glanced at Percy. I'm sure he would be fine having me at dinner, but he really wants to come out to his parents, and I think that's something he should do on his own.

I smiled lightly. "Thank you Ms. Jackson but I can't. My dad is expecting me. Maybe next time?"

"Oh, of course dear! Next time!"

I waved goodbye to the Jackson's and left their house. I hadn't even made it off their street when I got a text.

Was this a filler chapter just so I could get to Percy's POV without breaking the pattern?
