chapter three

Zuzi could basically feel the drinks from yesterday in the back of her head still.

She was currently sitting at a desk with her fellow flyers listening to admiral Simpson speak.

"Your all topgun graduates. You are elite pilots, the best of the best. That was yesterday. The enemy's new 5th generation fighter jet has levelled the playing field."

He spoke some more shit she couldn't care less about with her pounding headache.

"I'd like to introduce you all to your new instructor, Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell."

'this is going to be interesting' she thought.

Payback and playboy stared at him intently, listening to what he had to say. Zuzi was playing with the ring on her finger while listening.

There was something about him, that she couldn't put a finger on. He seemed so familiar.

"You probably know this book inside and out right?"

she heard some comment from  hangman but her thoughts was interrupted by a loud noise.

"so does your enemy. Now show me what you are made of, get to your planes."

Zuzi could feel her energy urging to come out.

"Panther, you stay here." Rooster looked back at her for a few seconds before turning and going out.

She looked at him waiting for him to speak.

"So, i've heard a few rumours about that temper of your. You can't let that get in the control, remember that." Maverick spoke. He didn't want her to get hurt or potentially hurt anyone else. He hated to ruin her mood but it was important to tell her this.

Zuzi couldn't believe it. Of fucking course he had made her stay back to tell her this.

She had went to practice after topgun, to keep her temper down. But if he was gonna act like that, she was going to show him the real panther in the sky.

She stormed away and to her plane. When she was at missions she had gotten a few friends here and there. One guy she got to know helped her get 'Panther' carved into her plane. She took on her helmet and took of.

Before she knew it she was in the sky. She was in the first group with fanboy and payback as a duo and coyote as her side.

Someone had wanted a bit more challenge so, the ones who got killed had to do 200 push-ups. Zuzi was not doing those.

Maverick killed playboy and payback first. Sucks for them.

He was after coyote after that.

He tried doing some trick to get out of maverick's hunting but didn't help as he got killed second.

Now it was only her left.

The panther with maverick. Everyone listened carefully thru the radio down on the ground.

"where are you?" he whispered as panther had disappeared. She couldn't believe he didn't recognise his own trick. She was right under him.

"I don't thing it takes that muck looking." she said with a bitter laugh.

She came up on his light side, getting him unbalanced for a few seconds giving her just enough time to get behind and shot him.

"And that's a kill!" Maverick was proud in some sort of way but didn't quite know why.

The rest of the day one even came near to killing maverick. But he still had to do his 200 push-ups.
