Billie

After L and I spend the night apart in the comfort of our own homes, I had finally got the chance to actually think. I didn't really know much about what L was going through, but I knew I was going to be by her side the whole way. I knew she had a long road ahead of her, and doing that alone would be the last thing she needs.

So, there I stood on L's doorstep once again, but this time adorned with flowers, a card and a bag full of my stuff I didn't need anymore. I knocked and waited for a few minutes in silence before it opened, revealing a very tired looking L. "Sorry. Too early?" I asked. She looked down to my hands and saw what I was holding.

L smiled to herself and looked back to me. "No, I just didn't sleep well. Come in," she said with a shake of her head and stood back to let me in. I stepped inside and held out the flowers and card. "I got these for you." I said.

"They are very pretty. Thank you," She smiled graciously taking them from her. "I'll go put them in water," she announced walking off to the kitchen and looking for a vase of some kind. She didn't seem find one so she just filled up a glass and put the stems in it.

"What's that?" she asked as she started to open the card, looking at the big grocery bag I was carrying. "Just stuff that I though you might like," I shrugged.

The front of the card was a stuffed bear holding a heart which I thought was adorable. The inside was blank apart from my handwriting.

dear my love,

words cant express how proud of you i am.

i can't wait to watch you grow more and more into who you really are.
i'll be here for you every step of the way, for all the laughs, cries, and everything in between.
you can count on me to help you in whatever way i can, i want to see you happy.

i know you must be going through a lot right now, but know that i'll be here for you in whatever way you need, i'm only a call or text away.

this doesn't change how i feel about you either. in fact, i love and respect you even more for being so brave.

you're my one and only, and my love for you is greater than you could ever imagine, even in your wildest of dreams.

"I'm sorry if it's messy or doesn't make sense- I did it in the dark-" I started to ramble when L didn't say anything. "No, no, it's perfect." She said coming over to me and draping her arms over my shoulders. "Although you continue to shower me with love, and as thoughtful and as sweet as the things you gift me are, you are the best gift I've ever received. I know it's cringey but it's true" she smiled, looking up to me.

I pouted, "can I kiss you?"

She nodded.

As soon as L felt my lips touch hers, she let her eyes flutter close. She relaxed into me and kissed back. The sensual moment ended with me pulling away for a proper breath. "Wanna look in this? I think you'll like it" I said with almost a smirk on my face, holding up the bag. She let out a little chuckle, "okay, okay, I'll take a look."

We moved over to the couch and sat down, the bag in her lap. She started to dig through it, seeing all sorts of clothes and makeup, as well as room decor. "Is this yours?" she asked. "Well it once was, yes. They don't have any use sitting in my closet," I shrugged.

L started to panic looking at all of the stuff. "I-I don't know about this..." she mumbled pushing the bag away. I got up and sat beside her, "don't get me wrong, I like it, I just-" she sighed not knowing how to explain herself.

"It's okay, L. How about we just look at one thing at a time, to make it less overwhelming?"

I reached into the large bag and pulled out a makeup brush. I gave it to L and let her hold it. She ran her thumb over the soft bristles. She looked up at me, so I smiled warmly and took it back. "Close your eyes," I instructed.

She obeyed, closing her eyes and leaning back into the sofa. I brought the brush up to her face and gently ran it from her ear, over her cheek, over her nose and to the other side. L shivered under the touch. "Maybe sometime we could do your makeup. When you're ready of course, no rush," I suggested. L nodded and sat up opening her eyes.

"I'd like that."

A silence grew between us. I noticed L's gaze kept flickering away from my eyes and down to my mouth. leant in to kiss her slowly, not wanting to startle her. Her eyes closed before I had even reached her lips this time, showing me she liked it when I kissed her like this.

L tried to deepen the kiss, but I pulled back. She frowned making me giggle lightly. "No, love."

"Please?" she asked, looking at me with big eyes. "I'm not going to take advantage of your vulnerability right now," I said. "I-I'm not broken Billie," she said crossing her arms over her chest. "I know that, I just- you're going through a lot, and I don't want our love to be used as your distraction. It's not healthy," I said.

L let out a small whine, surprising me as I had never heard her do that before.

"Billie..." she dragged out and pulled me close using my shirt. "I promise I'm not using you to distract myself. I just want you to kiss me. we haven't kissed a while, not since I was ignoring you," she mumbled.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes, Billie."
