Chapter 20

"Is this love ?"
Shehnaaz thought while sipping her tea sitting in her balcony. The fresh morning wind was caressing her face making her relax but at the same time her mind was stuck at the very moments happened that day. From kissing him to sharing her past, so many things happend just in one day.

She was relived that Rita was at home on medication. It has been a tough time dealing with Sidharth as he gets really emotional when it comes to his mum. She made sure he was having food and also held him when he cried. She has always been there when he needed her.

She knew she held a very important place in his life and she was scared of loosing that. Last time she was in love it didn't end well. Though she knew Sidharth would never hurt her in any way but what if something else does ?

It felt so right to fell in love with him but consequences scared her.

Her thoughts broke when the bell rang.
She thought it was Sidharth as normally he would come at her house, have breakfast and then leave for college together. He was putting efforts in an unnamed relationship and that made her wonder what he would do when they will be officially something.

She went and opened the door and to her surprise it wasn't Sidharth. She looked at the person who scanned her top to bottom. She felt she saw him somewhere but couldn't remember where. The guy was probably in his late 50s and was wearing a white Kurta pajama.

The guy: Miss Shehnaaz Gill ?

Shehnaaz: Yes.

The guy: Good! So I guess you know me.

Shehnaaz was a bit confused and he sensed that. He forwarded his hand in for a handshake. She hesitantly did.

The guy: I'm Rajeev Malhotra.

Shehnaaz's eyes widened and she realised where she had seen him. It was Rajeev Malhotra the current cm of the state and was again on the elections fighting for his position and most importantly he was Armaan's father.

She quickly took out her hand from his hold and made a straight face. It was months back when Sidharth convinced her to file a complaint against Armaan and after lots of ifs and buts she did. She knew Rajeev Malhotra was very competent for his position and he would do anything to remove the obstacles on his way. Right now his obstacle was Shehnaaz.

Rajeev: I think you have already sensed what I'm doing here. See it's simple you just have to take down the complaint against my son saying it was the opposite party who paid you to do this and it will be all good. I can even give you 5 lakhs for the compensation.

Shehnaaz: Wow! Like father like son. Do you even know what your son did to me Sir ? He tried to ruin my life, he threatened to kill me. If you were really a good candidate of being the cm again then you would have tried to protect me even if your son is at the fault. I did nothing wrong by taking a move against your son and trust me what I did was nothing in comparison to Armaan.

Rajeev: Beta I'm here to settle everything peacefully. If you cooperate then it will be done easily or else you know I can try other ways.

Shehnaaz: Then please do that! I'm not going to take down the complaint. You may leave now Sir.

Rajeev: Ok ok I will but can I have a glass of water first ? I will surely leave after I have it.

Shehnaaz nodded being the good person she is and went to the kitchen to bring some water. Meanwhile Rajeev walked into her apartment to find something to use against her. He was looking here and there and found nothing.

He was about to move out when he saw a photograph peeking through her handbag which was kept on the dining table. He silently went and pulled out the picture.
