Chapter 23

"Si.....dh....arth.....Sidharth" she stammered calling him, she was confused so confused that words refused to left her mouth.

Father ? Her father ?

That too after so many years ? And he thinks she will forgive him after what he did! She won't deny that she definitely tried to find him but that was to make him realise what he did years back was something he shouldn't have.

He freaking left her mother pregnant! As far as she knows her mother even fell down in her knees to stop him but he didn't listen instead he got married to another woman!

How could he even think she will forgive him ? She could never. He wasn't there when she needed him.

Why was he here now ?

She got up with the strength left in her body and got snuggled into her bed covering herself with the blanket. She needed her man but she had zero strength left to even call him. She was shivering.

After 2 hours.

He was there standing in front of her apartment, he was so tensed about her.
Why wasn't she at college ? What happened to her ? She wasn't even picking up his calls making him worry more. When he saw she wasn't even coming after the bell rang he knew something was wrong. His restless heart gave him enough signals indicating that.

He quickly opened the door with the spare key. His fingers were crossed hoping to see her fine. He entered and shouted," Shehnaaz ?" As he expected no reply came. He wasn't even sure what was happening as he didn't find her anywhere in the living room.

He walked up to her room only to find her curled up in her bed covered by a blanket. He felt relief. As he walked closer he again grew tense as he saw her shivering.

Shivering ? At this warm temperature ? Something was definitely wrong.

He quickly sat beside her on the bed and tried to wake her up. Her eyes were closed and she was shivering, sweat beads were forming on her forehead, her breathing wasn't normal as if she was getting it hard to breath. He kept her hand over her left side of the chest to feel if the heartbeats were ok but ofc they weren't.

He got scared and picked her figure in his arms. It was a panic attack!

He didn't knew what caused this but he knew he have to make her normal. He rubbed her back to make her breath normal.

"Shehnaaz, baby breath." He whispered trying to make her calm. As if sensing him she started moving and he was still holding her close rubbing her back. She was breathing heavily.

"Breath baby, I'm here." He again repeated to see it work.

She breathed in his arms and he saw her becoming normal again, he just knew that he would do anything to destroy the reason that has caused her this but right now it wasn't the right time, she needed him the most now and he had to be there.

"Sidharth ?" , he heard her speak while he was lost in his thoughts.

"Yes baby ? I'm here. Are you okay now ?" He kept patting her head calming her down. She hummed and again closed her eyes snuggling more into him. She was finally at peace but the thoughts of her so called father didn't left her mind.

After 4 hours.

Shehnaaz finally woke up and looked up only to find Sidharth in an uncomfortable position but still holding her close to his heart. She slowly got out of his hold and sat up then made him lay down on her bed as he also fell asleep while taking care of her. She slowly walked out of the room not making any sound to not disturb him from his sleep.

She walked up to the kitchen and took a glass filled water, drinking it in one gulp. She sat down with her thoughts filled mind.

She has so many questions for him! The reason he left her mother after she got pregnant, the reason he never even cared to look back for her, the reason he never tried contacting her even knowing she was carrying his child, and suddenly after seeing Shehnaaz his father side got woken up! Bullshit!

This must be something related to his politics, he might be trying to come into a good light in eyes of the common people.

"A father daughter reunion: Rajeev Malhotra found his long lost daughter after 21 years" What a headline! Very easy to grab human emotions. That's what Shehnaaz thought.

She gave a pause to her thoughts when she heard her room's door opening and Sidharth coming out of it.

She quickly put up a smile to hide her tension, it's not like she didn't want to tell him but first she needed to tell him many things before that.

"Hi." he said and lifted her up off her seat to hug her closely.

"Hi" she replied and she hugged him even tighter. What she could've done without this man ? She thought.

"I want to ask you so many questions right now but I know by your state you won't answer to them so I will wait until you are ready to do so" he whispered everything to her ear while she smiled.

"Why do you understand me so well ?" She asked.

"If I don't who will ?" He replied kissing her forehead. "But can I request you something ? And please say yes" he said making a sad but a requesting face.

"What ?" She asked.

"Please come with me to my house, I can't leave you here after I saw you in that state you know I can't stay here as maa will be there alone, Vivan is also out of city for work. So please let me take you there at least for today." He requested as if his life was depending on it.

She just smiled at his care.

"You don't have to be so reqeuestful Sidharth you have to just ask me" she held his chin looking into his eyes.

He took her hand from under his chin and kissed her soft fingers.

"Now let's go before maa calls me for the 15th time because I'm out for so long without even telling her where I'm. She must be worried but after seeing you she will be so happy you know. Letssss go baby" he said all this in one go while grabbing the key and her hand while making their way out of the apartment.
