Ahsoka just couldn't hide his annoyance. He stood outside the council room, waiting for Obi-wan to finally come out and tell him their verdict, while Master Anakin stood there grumbling the whole time.

'What are they even talking about in there? It's been weeks and, so far, all they've done is talk', said her master.

'Oh, come on, master. You know it's not that simple', groaned Ahsoka.

'But it is. He's a Sith, he ruins things. We're Jedi, we protect things. We make sure people like him don't go running around and destroying the galaxy. The moment he got up from that coffin of his, the first thing we should have done was to put him back in it'.

Ahsoka gaped. 'Wait. Are you putting this on me?'

Anakin's grumbling stopped. 'No. That's not what I meant. All I'm saying is-'.

Suddenly, the doors opened and the council stood in front of the two. 'Is there anything wrong here?', asked Obi-wan making Anaking and his padawan stiffen.

'No master', they answered together.

'Good. Come you two. Let's go see Darth Occlus'.

In the weeks that passed, many changes happened. Although still a Sith, Darth Occlus seemed to be more mischievous than malevolent, using the Force into making the guards give him extra dessert or making them forget what they are and instead turning them into a whole Circus act. The worst he's done so far was to leave the prison only later to be found in the Jedi Temple, teaching the young ones how to use the force to make a ball float. Ahsoka would have found it all endearing if it wasn't or that fact that she was there first hand when the Sith showed what he was truly capable of.

Still, it baffled everyone what the Sith Lord was really up to. With all his power, he could just as easily escaped off world and the Jedi would have been none the wiser. Or he could also just as easily brought chaos on Coruscant. Coming from an era of war, Ahsoka expects the Sith Lord to know just as much about war tactics as a well experienced Jedi Master, if not more. The fact that he did neither gave Ahsoka hope that perhaps there is still good residing in the Dark Side. Even if that good happens to be a childish undead Sith Lord.

Darth Occlus' strange antics forced the Jedi into taking more serious precautions than they've done with any other Siths. As Ahsoka, entered the prison, the first thing she noticed was all the Jedi Masters around a massive hole. Each of them aware and ready to strike at a moment's notice. In the middle of the hole, was Darth Occlus, chained down and kneeling on the ground. The Sith Lord looked at peace as he meditated in the middle of everything. Chained down beside him, Assaj Ventress glared at Ahsoka and all the Jedi watching them. For some reason, the two bonded over the weeks and during his transfer, the Sith Lord pleaded for Assaj to keep him complany in his new prison hole. And of course, the council agreed. After all, what could go wrong when two Siths are in the same place?

'Are there any updates, Master Fisto?', asked Master Windu.

'Nothing new, so far, Master Windu.' answered Master Kit Fisto. 'Darth Occlus has been teaching Assaj some meditation techniques but, by the looks of it, nothing will come of it'.

From the hole, Darth Occlus' voice echoed. 'I wouldn't say it like that, Master Fisto. I believe that, given time, my new apprentice will learn eventually'.

Master Windu raised a brow. 'Is that what she is now? Your new apprentice?'.

'Of course, with such great talent, what master would say no to teaching a gifted student like Assaj Ventress. Isn't that right, apprentice?' grinned the Sith Lord.

Assaj's glare turned to Darth Occlus. 'I am not your apprentice', she said with gritted teeth. 'You swore that if I followed you, you'd help me escape this damn planet'.

The Sith Lord simply smiled. 'I swore to give you freedom. And you will. But first, patience'

'Enough', roared Master Mundi. 'We are not here to watch you scheme, Sith. The Council is here because we have decided on a verdict'. The Jedi all looked at the Jedi council who then looked at one another before finally, coming to a silent agreement. Master Mundi continued. 'The council has decided to give you what you want. You can have your freedom'.
