Its been two days since Ahsoka's message managed to reach Obi-wan. However, with the extent of the damage done by the Separatist's attack, all hand's were too busy restoring order back to Corruscant and its citizens. Most Jedi were immediately sent off to hunt down all escaped convicts freed during that day. The Council itself had spent weeks planning out ways for restoring the city and ensuring a similar attack could never happen again.
Suddenly, the doors to his room opened and Rex entered. 'Commander, everything's been prepped like you ordered'.
'Good'. Obi-wan walked with Rex as the soldier escorted him to his ship.
'Sir, remind me again why we should just send in the whole unit after the Sith?' asked Rex. 'I know he's strong in the Force and all that but if we figure out a plan, we could catch him and get him to tell us everything he knows'.
'Because the last thing we want is to start some trouble with the Black Sun'. Obi-wan sighed. 'Rex, I know you're worried about those Anakin and Ahsoka. But bashing our heads into a wall won't do anyone any good'.
'It still doesn't feel right for you to face this Sith Lord alone. I could come with you as back-up. Or bring in the other Jedi Masters'.
'Thanks for the offer, Rex, but I'll manage. Somehow'. Obi-wan gave the man a pat on the shoulder. 'Trust me. I'll bring those two home'.
Rex looked at the Jedi for a moment before nodding. 'Good luck, sir. Bring them home'.
The Jedi climbed into his ship and turned on the engines. He looked at the commander and gave him a comforting smile before finally heading for the skies. For what it was worth, the commander did care for his apprentices as more than just soldiers. As insane is it may sound, they were a family.
'For the last time, I wasn't the one who made you run off to Ahsoka'. Darth Occlus had spent the entire morning trying to stave off Assaj's rage.
'The only reason I'd do what I did was if someone did something to me', roared his apprentice. 'And the only one with the power to do that is you'.
'Apprentice, I swear to you now. I didn't make you do anything against your will. Cross my heart' He made a gesture on his chest which made her roll her eyes. 'What did you do, anyways? Was it something embarrassing?'
Assaj growled at him before stomping her way out of the room. Seeing her little temper-tantrum made the Sith Lord giggle.
Darth Occlus didn't really expect things to go that way. Sure, he manipulated his apprentice to do her heart's desire but he didn't plan on her running towards Ahsoka. Their relationship's blooming. If he planned it well, he could have both of them dancing on the palm of his hand. But that would be for a later time. For now, he had other matters to attend. The Sith Lord strutted out of the room and headed for the throne chamber.
Four Falleen men sat on their chairs, whispering amongst themselves. They eventually looked at the Sith Lord who stood menacingly in the center of the room. 'What do you propose, Sith Lord?' said the oldest of them.
'As I said, I'll give you power. More precisely, I'll give you power in its rawest form'. The Sith Lord pulled out something from deep inside his pocket. The group looked at it more closely only to find a dull little rock.
'A pebble', grimaced one of them. 'I don't know what you're playing at Sith, but if I were you, I'd take this meeting much more seriously'.
The Sith Lord laughed. 'What you see here is no mere object. This is a gemstone. Belonging to the Lord of Hunger himself, Darth Nihilus'.
