Writer's Note:

I don't really know which is better, uploading a chapter with a 2k word count, or uploading 2 or 3 chapters with 1k word count each. As a Wattpad writer, having more chapter means I get more reads which helps make my work get more attention. But on the other hand, it feels like a really cheap way to get my story out there. Either way, I'm doing this for the story's longevity. Critics are welcome.

Hope you Enjoy!

Although, the rest of the Jedi were wary of the Sith Lord, Ahsoka was more intrigued. She looked at Darth Occlus and saw a man filled with stories of adventure and mystery. She still knew how dangerous he could be but the way he's acted all this time made the padawan think that perhaps he should be given a chance. If no one is willing to do it, she would. And what better time to do it than when she's escorting him around.

'So, any plans for world domination lately?' she asked mischievously.

The Sith Lord grinned. 'Eh, its just too much work. I'm here on vacation'.

Hearing him made Master Anakin growl. 'This isn't a vacation, Sith. You're a prisoner and one wrong move and -'.

'You'll kill me. Yes, yes. How much more threats are you gonna keep throwing at my, little Jedi?'

Master Anakin was ready to attack him before he was stopped by Master Obi-wan and Master Plo. 'Anakin, enough. What's gotten into you?' Master Obi-wan pulled Master Anakin away from the rest of them, reprimanding him as they left.

'I'm really getting under his skin, aren't I?' commented Darth Occlus to no one in particular.

Master Plo looked at him suspiciously. 'Anakin has always been hot-headed but this is the first time I've seen him act like that. I must warn you not to antagonize him any further'.

'Understood', said the Sith Lord. 'Still, he's no different from most Jedi Knights I met back in my days'.

This peaked the young padawan's interest. 'I've been meaning to ask, what was it like back then? In your days?'

'Not much different to how things now, I suspect. Two sides fighting for power and resources. Although, I must say, not having the Sith run around the galaxy, willy-nilly is a breath of fresh air'.

Looking to the side, Ahsoka saw Master Plo and the other Jedi Masters intently listening to the Sith Lord's story. Ahsoka continued her prodding. 'Really? And here I was ready to shoulder you could lean on'.

'Don't get me wrong, little Ahsoka. Figuring out that my homeworld is gone was quite a surprise but I think deep down, I knew it was bound to happen eventually'. Darth Occlus sighed and Ahsoka understood just how much it pained him to remember his past. He continued. 'Strength was the absolute law. The strong were always above all while the weak groveled at their feet. Not nobility or riches or connections. None of these were above true strength. Or that was how it was meant to be'.

'But just like everything else, even the Sith Council is easily corrupted. Eventually, the weak, cowards as they are, would find ways to worm themselves into joining our ranks. That would be our downfall'.

'You make it sound like you guys actually have principles', commented Ahsoka teasingly.

Darth Occlus feigned discontent. 'Am I not living up to your expectations of the brutish, bloodthirsty Sith Lord?' Ahsoka giggled and this made the Sith Lord smile.

Master Plo soon interrupted the conversation. 'We are here, Darth Occlus. Welcome to the Jedi Gardens'.

A massive dome stood before the group. As they entered, Ahsoka looked around at the serene place. Plants of varying colours grew in a strange arrangement as it surrounded the center area. Right in the middle of the dome stood an old tree that gave shade to all of its surroundings. The garden was mainly used as the Jedi's meditation area but strangely enough, today, it was empty. The padawan turned her head and noticed the Sith Lord's mouth fall agape before immediately shutting it. As she stayed with him, Ahsoka slowly realized just how human this Sith Lord really was.
