[ Flashback ; 17 years ago, during the original timeline]

"This is Jim Hellerman, reporting live for Channel 2 News outside of the Capital West bank at Main and sixth."

13-year-old Lilith stopped from her tracks as she overheard the news the orphanage staff were watching.

"A group of heavily armed men stormed the bank not three hours ago and took an unknown number of hostages." Terrified yet intrigued, she listens intently to the news reported.

"Up there!" One of the people at the site yelled as the camera man panned the shot to the roof where a blonde boy, she assumed probably around her age, could be seen. Then suddenly a man flew out of one of the bank's windows as the crowd screamed in shock.

"Looks like one of the armed robbers has been thrown from the bank." The reporter continued, as Lilith was baffled by this whole situation going on.

Lilith, sneakily goes closer, hidden behind the door as she watches the news.

After the chaos, six kids in uniform and masks left the building that made the people baffled.

"...there are some among us gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary." Lilith listened to the man, mouth agaped.

"...I have adopted six such children. I give you the inaugural class of the Umbrella Academy." As the man finished his introduction to the kids and was bombarded by questions, the orphanage staff turned her head as she made eye contact with Lilith. The two of them just making a long awkward staring competition, when Lilith decided to rush out and went back to her room.

She sat by her bed and grab her glass of water and sighed.

"I'm glad I'm not the only one.."

She whispered to herself as she made the water from her glass float around.

Lilith woke up from her nap and went to get more fruits from the Sparrow's refrigerator as Ben suddenly shows up.

She avoided his gaze as much as she could. But the he stopped from his tracks and stared at her, so she stopped as well.

"Thought you said you wanted to go." Ben, still upset at his dad's comment on the umbrellas, snarkily stated.

"Well, I don't really know if the umbrellas found a good place to stay in and if they could provide me some food.. so." She answered honestly and walks off as Ben furrowed her eyes at her.

"Moron." He muttered under his breath and left.

A few hours later, out of boredom, she went looking for Marcus. She wanted to leave and tell someone she's leaving to go swimming at a lake around town.

She stayed at the lake for hours, until sundown. She wanted to stay longer before facing the real world, where there's two superhero families fighting that she had been in between of.

She suddenly felt a weird energy around her and stood up from her floating.

"What the fuck was that?" She cursed to herself. Confused, Lilith decided to dry off, put her clothes back on and went back to the academy.

"Nobody seems awake." She muttered.

She's decided that she should call it a night and went to sleep on the couch.
