Chapter 15

Lilith approached a drunk Ben who's leaned on the table playing with shrimps.

Lilith looked at him confused, and sat beside him as he turned his head realising she's there, and sighed.

"I don't understand you." He sulkily says, as Lilith looked at him with knitted eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" She says as she put her elbows by the table and held her chin.

"You kissed me before." He quietly says.

"Now that I'm the one trying to kiss you, you don't want it.." He whined as he leaned backwards onto the chair and glared at her.

"Do you.. like me?" Lilith says, in which caught Ben off guard as he avoided her gaze.

"No.." Ben says as he looked aways, whilst Lilith raised an eyebrow at him.

Turning his head back to look at her, she sighed.

"To be honest, I don't know anymore.. you're making me crazy. After what you did I've been dreaming about this random girl that I've never even met before." He says, as she furrowed her eyebrows.

"Is it Jennifer?" She softly asked as he shook his head.

"Well, is it the out of place drawing you had? The one with long hair? " She asked as he nodded lazily.

Lilith sighed as Ben looked at her, as she reached out for his face and caressed his cheeks. Ben kept his eyes on hers, then to her lips.

"Did you know him?" Ben asked, Lilith looked at him confused.

"Their Ben, did you know him?" He asked as she sighed.

"I got to talk to him but I only really knew him as I was a fan of the Umbrellas when I was younger. I was planning on meeting him again but.. something came up." She sighed as she looked down on her lap.

"I wasn't able sneak out of the orphanage to see him again." She confessed as Ben leaned in closer to her, and reached out for her shoulders, caressing it.

Lilith and Ben just stared in each other's eyes, as she sighed and got another drink.

"He was really sweet. He didn't know this but, a few years before I met him with my friend and got the courage to talk to him. I was alone at a theme park, once."

She says, continuing with her drink, as Ben listened to her intently.

"When a man had run amuck as I was getting ice cream. I assume that man was drunk, and as you probably already know, I don't like using my powers so I just stood there. When he was throwing stuff around, and I got hit in the head and lost consciousness."

Ben got himself a drink as he listened to her, mouth agape, like an amused child.

"I was awakened by a young Ben, wearing the umbrella's super hero suits asking if I was alright! He was so sweet and even got me ice cream, because the one I got fell on the ground..." She chuckled at the memory.

"I'm not gonna lie, after 15 years, I've forgotten all my memories of him. Coming to this timeline, and meeting you, weirdly, made me remember everything." Lilith softly says, confused as he looked at her.

"I don't believe in soulmates or whatever the fuck, but maybe we are soulmates." He sarcastically says while chuckling, then smiled softly to himself as Lilith looked at him and smiled.

"Didn't know you're funny when you're drunk." Lilith chuckled as Ben looked up at her.

"You know, you should just stay drunk forever." She snarkily says as she continued with her drink, and Ben rolled his eyes at her.
